I feel nothing but regret. Other then a good location, I have nothing good to say. It’s easy to get past the cracks in the bathroom, but the overall service was just horrid. The staff seem to struggle with English, the late night menu that is in EVERY ROOM apparently “doesn’t exist”, when In actuality the chef went home. Asking simply for another towel as there was no enough for my family, was apparently asking too much as not only did we not get a towel, we pretty much got told to go away. I think there is potential in this hotel, but a serious renovation needs to be considered and definitely a word needs to be had we with some staff who I believe just don’t give a damn. And don’t even get me started on the breakfast selection. I think once it was probably a nice hotel but now, it’s definitely worth looking elsewhere. I never write bad reviews but my stay at this hotel, was worth sharing. On a positive note, I got the salmon from the restaurant was nice.

Worst hotel experience ever!!!!!

I am really wondering if the owner of the hôtel really reads all these bad reviews! If he reads them then he doesn’t care at all so I advise anyone to avoid staying there! I feel robbed! I paid €290 only for 2 nights as single room from the 21-23/6 in #447 to get a very bad staying in all aspects:
1. Hôtel looks different in photos as in reality!
2. Room was old , smelly and depressive!
3. Locked safety on room door was broken
4. Check out at 11:00. All over the world is 12:00
5. Worst breakfast experience ever! No cutleries available, very small plates to serve ourselves, no appropriante glasses for juices, selection of cheese, butter and food in general very poor!
6. The only positive things in this hotel is the location, the bed is comfortable. Also the guy in the breakfast is very friendly! It’s really pity though this hotel with a proper renovation and more care could be a gem in Lancaster area and the owner most probably doesn’t care!!

Great potential untealized

My husband snd I stayed at the Elizabeth hotel because he has stayed there before and founded charming and extremely well located. It is still extremely well located very close to the Lancaster gate metro stop on the central line. It has the potential to be extremely charming but it needs someone with a little imagination and a significant amount of money to make it happen. It’s unfortunate because you look at it and realize how delightful it could be.

It is not delightful, however. Unfortunately they only offered double beds which makes it difficult to get a good nights sleep particularly for someone who as tall as my husband whose feet extended beyond the mattress. No air conditioning was working.

The staffing is uneven. Some members are very willing to help and others do not seem particularly interested. There was one dramatic exception. Alexandro who served as waiter and bartender was just delightful in both capacities.

The breakfast is probably the worst I’ve ever been exposed to in my travels. Pretty good potato cakes, but that’s the only thing I can be really positive about.

Again, location is terrific. The restaurant across the street, Island Grill, was convenient and very good.

Two nights stay booked via groupon

This hotel is well situated next to Lancaster gate and just across the road from Kensington gardens. We paid £278 on Groupon for a two nights stay with dinner each night and continental breakfast. This was very cheap for a two night weekend stay in this area. The quote, ‘you pay for what you get’ comes into mind. It is a dated hotel, in need of complete refurbishment. The rooms are small and the food is of low quality. Some of the staff seem to need support in customer service. When booking this please think about how much you are paying in an expensive area and don’t be surprised what you get in return.

A disappointment

This hotel was recommended to us so we didn’t check other reviews. Big mistake. Other than the location, close to the park and to the Lancaster gate station, it has very little to offer. The thing is that if the hotel owner or manager cared at all, they could easily have made the rooms more comfortable, for example CLEAN towels , enough soap and shampoo for two people, a place in the shower to put the soap/shampoo so you don’t have to put it on the floor...or a decent English breakfast. I’m not even talking about refurbishing the very sad looking furniture, changing the uncomfortable beds, the tiny lift that can fit two people or one person plus a suitcase. On the plus side the WiFi was pretty good, although a friend who was staying on the first floor had no WiFi.
