In a business district so convenient for work, not general tourist. Rooms are small but comfortable, same with bath room. I was placed across the street in Montcalm suites. Rooms are not suites so not sure why the title. Also not convenient to run across traffic back to hotel
For gym, front desk issues, hotel restaurant etc. Lastly, they have some strange credit card policies, such as charging 50 GBP in advance for incidentals, so make sure to check a week after for refund

So many better options in London. But OK if have work related activities in immediate area.

The rooms aren’t huge but they were clean and nicely appointed. Breakfast served every morning is a nice convenience but got boring by the end of the week as it’s the same every day. Restaurant in the hotel and room service was good and convenient.

Do not stay here at a weekend

Nice hotel, rooms very clean & comfortable. Hotel restauarant & bar were not open on a Saturday night. Went to the pub attached to the hotel, food was good but the bar and bar staff were not up to scratch.

I normally stay at the Montcalm Hotel The brewery and am always impressed so I thought I’d give Shoreditch a try. I was super disappointed with the level of service we received, the woman checking us in didn’t understand my London accent or my boyfriends northern accent which meant check-in was very confusing, took way too long and already stressful.
No-one showed us around, told us where anything was or gave us any acknowledgement at all so we went on a wander of our own to find the club lounge, restaurant and spa.
I very rarely get to see my boyfriend so we try to make the most of our time together and the reaction to us ruined our stay.
The staff were very awkward and we were getting a lot of staring/ weird looks (we are both quite heavily tattooed). I’m not used to this kind of behaviour (especially in shoreditch!!) therefore felt super uncomfortable and self conscious, It was all just a bit odd and we will be going to back to the brewery from now on where the staff are so helpful and go out of their way to make sure we have a great stay!
