How to Get There
stayed here for 5 nights, the hotel service was so good and they were kind enough to decorate our room as it was our anniversary month. loved their service and stay.
location and view wise its not tht great as the hotel is more for corporate ppl and the street i a bit away from the main city tourist location. but very peaceful.
Did not expect to stay at the suites but was moved due to the main hotel being full. Not disappointed by the facility the room was good and comfortable with good amenities. Being close to the main hotel and its facilities you just need to cross the road.
Although my room was pleasant (very good bathroom) and a decent size, this hotel is a maze. To get to my room, I had to take two lifts and walk a considerable distance between them on the first floor.
The area is not well served by cafés and restaurants. I had breakfast in the hotel one morning and found it just average — especially the coffee, which was really not very good.
Stayed for 3 nights and can’t fault the hotel or the staff.
The Staff were particularly friendly and very accommodating in any request I had👍🏽
Great access to the Excel centre and other amenities
2 courses for £12 is an absolute bargain and the menu is quite varied - would definitely recommend the sticky toffee pudding 😉
Great service, nicely decorated hotel room, deep mattress and proper pillows on the bed. It was a lot more luxury than I had expected for the price I paid for London. I booked in advance and paid £165 through booking dot com for one night. It was a very comfortable stay, it wasn't noisy, no street noise heard in the room at all. Big thick black out curtains and a sheer type valance for the day to let the light in but still maintain privacy. Elemis toiletries in the bathroom and all little extras like ear cleaning buds, cotton wool pads, soap and a shower cap. There is a magnifier mirror to do your make up in if you like, a shower head and a rain shower and a wide bath. Nice tea, coffee, and hot chocolate, not cheap tea ;) ironing board, everything you need. a full length mirror, reading lights, plugs by the bed, magazine's on the work desk. I had a really lovely stay.
It's about a 6-8 minute walk from Barbican tube station (you can get the circle line here and you can get straight through to Paddington). As you exit Barbican tube station go straight ahead under a long tunnel which is all pedestrianised (spot the Banksy). The Jugged Hare is on the corner of the street the hotel is on and it looked really nice though I didn't eat there. The Barbican centre is a 2-3 min walk and easy to find from the hotel and has a garden to sit in and fountains.
I went to a blog conference on Aldersgate street and it was easy to find from the hotel, about a 10/15 min walk away.
