Superior room not very superior & poor value
Reviewed 4 days ago

Great location close to tube but superior room was very small and in need of decoration. Dirty tiles in need of grout cleaner, scrapes and dirt on paint work and furniture. Not clear in booking process that food was vegan. We didn’t bother as thought of a vegan croissant was too much. Lovely cafes round the corner. We wouldn’t stay again. Better value at premier inn

One of my go-to hotels in London

I've tried other hotels in London but find this one the best value for money. The staff are great, rooms well equipped, and vegetarian breakfast unbeatable. It could do with some freshening up here and there but overall one I have been back to several times.

A very pleasant surprise
Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I booked the hotel before reading Trip Advisor, and was a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews. But wow I was pleasantly surprised.
On arrival I felt I was entering a spa hotel. The ambience and aroma were so relaxing and warming. The long busy day just seemed to melt away.
The check in was fast and efficient. The receptionist even took me to my room, explaining where everything was.
The room was a very nice size, with everything I needed. Again I found the room just so relaxing. The bathroom again was a very nice size, with lovely toiletries provided. a further added delight was the lovely big bath. I slept exceptionally well.
In the morning breakfast was a breakfast buffet type, which is vegan. Even the breakfast room was relaxing. This was a nice change from the normal smell of cooked food you get in a hotel. There was plenty of choice and friendly staff.
Check out again was very efficient and the receptionist asked if I enjoyed the hotel.
I will also add I was a sole female business traveller and at all times in the hotel and surrounding area I felt completely safe. The hotel is literally two minutes from the tube with lots of restaurants and supermarkets nearby.
I had a lovely stay at the hotel and will certainly be returning.

Fawlty Towers when arriving and skip the vegan breakfast

Booking this 4 star hotel via Secret Escapes as a surprise for my husband and a jobtrip I had expected something better than this.

Upon late arrival we met a receptionist like the one in Fawlty Towers. Didn’t say Welcome just started to ask for the passports and informed us about breakfast. I didn’t even understand what she said.

The mini suite was (a staircase up) large and had a small kitchenette and a sofa. But the floor was so dirty and full of stains. The sound from the bathroom and from the corridor were quite loud so ear plugs is a good thing to use.

The Continental breakfast was actually the worse one I’ve had in a long time! The hotel is serving vegan food and the Continental one was vegan even if they serve other food as well. Coffee, croissants, old bread, juice, soya yoghurt and a fruit salad of mainly grapes. For a 4 star hotel you expect better.

The staff had left the sweetest cake for my husband who had his birthday upon arrival! That was really kind and a nice surprise! That combined with the nearby underground were the highlights. Unfortunately the rooms are so unpleasant so you don’t want to spend any extra time accept to sleep there.

I cannot recommend this hotel for couples or families travelling with kids. Small restaurant, poor breakfast, attentive and night staff like Fawlty Towers...

Nice Place

I stayed here with my husband. Everything was very good, one thing i was not aware of is that the petit rooms ( which aren't that petite ) where in the basement. All of the petit rooms are there, it didn't bother me to much because we only slept there and were out all day. The hotel is clean, nice furnutere ( i like the style ) and nice staff. The location is fantastic. 5 minutes from the underground, bus, and beautiful Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. We will definetly recommend the hotel and come back again.
