How to Get There
I booked an executive twin room for my daughter and I for 2 nights. I was having an op nearby and wanted to be in walking distance of Westfield for convenience.
Reception staff friendly and helpful at check in and check out.
The room was spacious enough, with a sofa (which would convert to a bed if required), desk and TV. There was a fridge (empty of mini bar products so it could be used for chilling water), kettle and ice bucket which could be filled from a machine at the other end of the landing.
The room was in a quiet position with no road noise, although when it was quiet you could hear the occasional train go past.
It was clean enough, but I would have liked a soap dish in which to place the bar of soap instead of having it sitting on the worktop, making a slimy mess. The water was hot, although the usual trial and error in operating the bath and shower was in evidence.
We made use of room service for our evening meal, which only had a small charge, and was quite quick to arrive (probably as it was before the evening rush). The food was tasty, hot and generously sized.
On the first morning we had the buffet breakfast, which I didn't think was that great. If you like pastries, then fine, but not much variety otherwise.
The second morning, I had a cooked breakfast which was much better, although the fruit juice wasn't good quality. My eggs were cooked as requested, bacon and sausage were good.
Bed and pillow were OK.
I did not use the swimming pool or spa so can not comment on those, although there is an extra charge for using them I believe.
Overall impression - mid range hotel which is very convenient if you need to be in this area, and not noisy.
Upon arrival at reception I was asked to swipe my debit card incase I used the minibar. I found out once I got home they had taken over £200! For a pre paid room! They admitted it was a mistake and informed me it may take up to 10 days to get the money back! It’s day 7 and I’m still waiting. Its robbery! I didn’t authorise this payment. And wasn’t informed of it. They room was dirty. I won’t be staying here again! Breakfast and staff were
only good bit.
I was here for my birthday Spa Day, catered for in every area. I enjoyed myself so much I was late meeting my family for another engagement. Lunch was excellent, I even got an unexpected birthday cupcake????????????
