How to Get There
Food lovely, staff very friendly, rooms comfortable but in need of updating. Everything was a bit tired and our bathroom tiling over the bath was smashed and therefore we thought that water must be going below the bath. Shower screen leeked terrilby aswell so floor always wet after a shower. Also taps the other way around and evern the cold tap gave off hot water for a while!! As i said, it is comfortable and food great but needs some attention.
The review for the one night stay is somewhat mixed.
I arrived prior to booking in time due to an appointment and staff were curtious and helpful by storing my luggage for me.
Upon return from my appointment and booking in, I was offered an upgrade on my room, I asked the total price for room and upgrade and was advised £129. This I thought a reasonable total. I was then advised that they wished to also hold an additional £50 from my credit card, which I though unusual but agreed thinking may been for possible damage/theft etc to the room.
Upon check out I was then advised that the original price for the room was £129 and they were then charging an additional £30 upgrade charge. I did make representation that this was not what I had been advised upon check in and I was not happy, however this was ignored in the most pleasant manner and the charge was levied without respecting my representation. Prior to checking out I had the hotel restaurant and asked if I could have a breakfast sitting as I had no booked, again staff were very curtious and arranged this advising me of the charge of £17 for the sitting. Again I agreed to this price and had a pleasant meal, during the sitting I was given a bill to sign and immediately notice a discretionary surcharge had been added without my consent. I ignored this bill and went to the pay point to pay with my credit card and had to point out that I had not agreed to the service charge when again they tried to charge.
In essence the stay was arranged as I had a meeting locally and hoped for a smooth and relaxing stay. Despite the room being clean, comfortable and well located this was completely overshadowed by the clear intention and I can only imagine management onus on very sneaky ways of ripping customers off and made the stay somewhat uncomfortable, having disputes over money that had transparancy been in place would not have occurred.
Very clean and comfortable with a warm welcome and efficient service, at a very reasonable price. I really recommend this hotel but do be aware Sheperd's Bush is a little way out of Central London (though has super tube and bus links).
Our room was VERY quiet and well appointed, including an iron and ironing board which was very handy!.
