How to Get There
Spent 4 nights here this week visiting my son who is attending University of Middlesex. Lovely comfortable room, very friendly staff and nice breakfast. Decor a bit tired looking but perfect location.
4 star hotel and no restaurant for an evening meal. Bar meals served until 8pm and limited menu. We ate in the bar and were the only ones in there initially to be honest atmosphere of a morgue. Bed very uncomfortable. We had paid for two nights and decided to leave after one night to drive a six hour journey home . Overall disappointed as I thought location was more rural. Picture of hotel misleading as I convinced myself it stood in own grounds. However my fault for not reading location description. Very urban and I will not return. We stayed in Hendon to go to RAF museum which was great
I brought my Nan here for afternoon tea. She has dementia and had had her wedding reception in the same venue so thought it would be nice for her birthday.
They only seem to do afternoon tea on request as not a lot of people ask for it apparently. However, you should partake in this as the view to the garden was stunning and they were able to provide a gluten free tea for me. The portions were overly generous so we got to take a lot of cakes home. The staff were so kind to my Nan who repeated herself a lot and really engaged her in her trip down memory lane.
The hotel is being turned into a home for people with dementia at the end of the year so get down there soon to look at this stunning building!
Well it must have been amazing in its heyday, lavish furnishings and very splendid building. We were upgraded to a suite which was lovely overlooking gardens at front and not much traffic noise. Staff very welcoming and breakfast very good. Showing signs of wear in places and if closing why should they maintain fittings e.g. a cover on shower controller, mound in shower etc. Very convenient for north London attractions, nice area, good restaurants nearby. We went to Senator a Persian restaurant which was amazing. Thank you for our stay and best wishes to the staff for the future.
Didn't realise this hotel was closing in December until we got there. I had heard great reviews about it. Very dated and badly needs updating. Room small with tea/coffee facilities. Found the hotel noisy as near the main road and you could hear other rooms using the bathrooms. total chaos in carpark due to a private function with cars blocking access making it impossible to get out. Disappointing buffet breakfast.
