Friendly, helpful, clean boutique style hotel

The staff were helpful and friendly making our stay extremely pleasant. The rooms were lovely and clean, the breakfast was very nice and overall it made our weekend very enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again.

Disappointed. Hotel Staff Unhelpful and Rude

Do not stay here. We arrived 30 minutes early but reception staff refused to let us check in until 3pm, they were curt and unhelpful. The room was cold and drafty, and the bed and pillows were hard and uncomfortable. Do not eat in the restaurant, the food is not good. All four meals were disappointing, the steak was frazzled and the curry was cold and served on top of salad, the bread was stale too! We were so disappointed, especially as this was for a birthday weekend away. No way is this a 4 star hotel.

Mixed feelings

After being charged for the full length of our stay upon arrival before even being shown the room, we were assigned a room downstairs. It was large, but there was quite some cold coming in through an outside door and the old windows. Fortunately we were assigned another room upstairs after one night, but again the windows were rather drafty and the shower weak. We were also surprised that we had to pay for the room service on advance- quite an unusual hotel policy. However, the staff was friendly and is certainly not to be blamed for these policies.

Basic Hotel, no hot water in room and not a 4 star at all.

After being double booked at the sister hotel we got put in here. Upon arrival I asked to see the room and thank goodness I did, it was like a shoe box.

I then asked reception to change rooms which they did once I showed them a picture of a room from their website.

No hot water in the tired and tiny bathroom.

Bed was a banana shape and highly uncomfortable.

Really disappointing stay but location is great.

Nickel and Dimed to Death (Only stay if desparate)

I travel often and I rarely if ever write negative reviews because I believe most of the time anything negative is on you as the traveler or the research you do. However, this place is one of the pettiest, charge you for breathing their air, type of properties I have ever encountered. I am renting this place for $300 USD per night right now and have had the following happen:

1. They do not provide any bottled water at all for guests. You may receive..... ONE bottle of water per day if you join their rewards program. Otherwise, if you request water at all they ask if you will authorize it on your credit card.

2. There are no refrigerators in the room so good luck bringing anything back to the hotel with you. Literally, no refrigerators in a $300 per night room.

3. We are in a room below the restaurant which means listening to walking all night. Its like living in a freaking dorm. Ridiculous.

$45 places in the States have refrigerators and water.

Upon check in the front desk staff was rude because they couldn't find my name in their system.

Stay away, don't waste your time. There are cheaper, nicer, and less corner cutting hotels on the same freaking street.
