How to Get There
We stayed at Grange Beauchamp Hotel London for 3 nights with my wife and 16 Years old sun.
The room was fantastic: big, shining clean and with 3 big beds, bathroom was large and clean. The staff was very professional and kind. The hotel location is also very good not far away walk to places of interest.
We did not eat any meal so we do not know how the food is.
We will sure recommend the Grange Beauchamp Hotel.
Great location, very clean, friendly staff and a smooth check in, as we had a busy day/evening in London we did not use any of the hotels facilities so cannot comment on these areas but they did look nice and relaxing.
I booked this hotel through a secret hotel deal Lastminute.com which meant I paid less than the advertised rate of £275 per night but it was still almost £400 for 2 nights. The street is a lovely Georgian one, very well located between Southampton Row and Tottenham Court Road which makes it easy to find, and gives the visitor plenty of food and drink options.
The reception area is very pleasant and the staff were lovely. The room itself was ok. The bed was lovely and comfy which makes up for the issues. It was a very small room. The bed wasn't full length (just as well we aren't 6ft tall) and even then we had to wall sideways to slip between the end of the bed and the wall. But there is furniture at the end of the bed, which I've managed to hit with my hip each time I squeezed past. Its nothing serious but I did hurt myself.
The decor in the bedroom is good, but the bathroom is looking a little tired. Some of the grout is missing between floor tiles. There are water stains on the wall under the toilet flush mechanism and on the bath panel. Some of the paint is flaking and blistered.
On a hot day it was impossible to get cold water out of the tap. We couldn't get the bath to fill using the bath outlet, had to turn it to shower to get it to fill. The TV had a very poor selection of channels (doesn't everyone expect Netflix now?). And the screen had 2 flat spots.
The worst part was actually the fact the kettle is positioned in a very unsafe place. Its plugged in inside the wardrobe, on a shelf at shoulder height. That means you have to lift a kettle full of booking water from shoulder height when making a cuppa. It's an accident waiting to happen.
The hotel is apparently 4 star, my room definitely wasn't. It fulfilled its purpose of giving me a convenient base for 2 nights. But I will not be staying again. My next trip to London is already booked and planned, and I'm going back to my favourite place to stay which wasn't available for the last trip or I would have been there instead.
