1 night stay

Just stayed for 1 night. Front Desk, Bar and Restaurant staff very friendly and helpful - particularly Manil (?) waiter from Nepal - excellent ambassador for the hotel! Food good, Gin Martini about the best we ever had. Room was small and hot, could not get it to cool down. Bar of soap from previous occupant was left in the shower, room was clean apart from that. Could do with air conditioning, but we live in USA and are spoiled! Had a room with twin beds.

Terrible room with a large power plant outside the window kept us awake all night and completely ruined a week's holiday

Upon booking we requested a quiet room and asked again when checking in. We were allocated a small room with a large power plant for the hotel immediately outside the small bedroom window which was about 8ft off the ground, so you could only see out by standing on a chair. In the hope that the power unit would be turned off at night we waited until around 11.30 then called reception who said the only other rooms they could offer were on the noisy side of the hotel - so this is clearly a known problem. Unfortunately, the loud noise throughout the night meant it was near impossible to sleep and completely ruined the next few days of a trip we planned for some time. The room was also so small that we couldn't open the wardrobe door fully as the bed was in the way and don't book in here if you want any privacy in the bathroom as the wall and door is floor to ceiling opaque glass.

Good location

We stayed here for the location to the O2 as we were seeing a concert there.
The location is fab, easy for public transport and if you don’t want to do that, the front desk staff (who were lovely) will order a taxi for you.

We had dinner and breakfast in the hotel. Dinner was amazing. Great pizza and the cod and chips were fab.
Breakfast standard greasy spoon type cooked breakfast. Great croissant though!

Unfortunately the bed was so uncomfortable! Awful old mattress and pillows that have left us with achy backs. For that reason alone I’ll think twice before booking here again which is a shame!!

Lovely base to explore london

This is the third time my girlfriend and I have visited this hotel in the last couple of years, and it never fails to impress. The hotel is always lovely and clean and the staff are warm and friendly, and never short of good advice.

The breakfast is always very good and the restaurant area is lovely relaxed.

The DLR is only a short walk away, and it’s a direct route into Bank on the tube network

I will be visiting again soon, if for nothing else, for the warm cookie on arrival

Thanks again

Lovely place and warm welcome. I came here with my daughter to have afternoon tea.
Afternoon tea was delicious but I could not finish it all! they serve English tea which was drunk by kings dating back to 18th century, an assortment of sandwiches, warm scones both fruit and plan and cakes.
The Décor is spectacular! including the bathroom which is sparkly and top of the art.
This is by far the nicest place to date that I have had afternoon tea.
