How to Get There
Each time my husband and I visit London, there is no difficulty selecting our accomodation. We do not hesitate in booking our stay at Crown Plaza- Battersea. We usually visit around our wedding anniversary date, and each time this fabulous hotel exceeds our expectations. The spa and wellness facilities are luxurious and beyond 5 star, providing a range of choices for relaxation including spa, sauna, steam room, showers, and jets relaxation chairs in the massive spa (more like pool) area. The rooms provide everything you need to feel relaxed and comfortable, including slippers, robes, ironing boards tvs in the bathroom, heated floors, heated towel racks, the most comfortable pillows and doonas, and the list goes on.... We are rewarded for our loyalty, as we are often greeted with some special treats and drinks upon arrival- this gesture makes us feel welcomed and valued for our ongoing stays at Crowne Battersea. There are beautiful shops nearby, delivery available if needed, Chelsea (affluent neighbourhood) right around the corner, not to mention being situated on the beautiful River Thames! London City is not too far away, being able to recognise in the distance, recognisable London landmarks including the London Star Wheel. Buffet breakfast was delicious, and included a menu also, allowing guests to order from an assortment of freshly created chef dishes. Buses are not even 400 metres outside the hotel, taking you to areas like Earls Court (near South Kensington), otherwise Clapham Junction station is not too far, where there is also a buzzing scene of bars, restaurants, and club. Thank you for your excellent service, facilities, and hospitality Crowne Battersea! My husband and I are counting down the days til we come back again!
My Children surprised me with an overnight Spa trip to this hotel and it was absolutley outstanding.
Having read some of the other reviews before writing mine, I do wonder if they drafted in a whole new team especially for our stay! Everybody we encountered from check in staff to restaurant staff, were fantastic. The manager went out of her way to assist my daughter in making my visit spectacular. Our room was upgraded and there was a birthday cheesecake and fruit awaiting my arrival. The Spa and massage I recieved, again wonderful and worth every penny. Please do not be put off by the bad reviews.
This hotel was outstanding and if I ever do a staycation, I will return.
We went to the cafe as we were early for a helicopter flight. We ordered food, it didn't arrive. I requested (very politely after a 25 minute wait) that if possible the food could be delivered. It didn't arrive. So we went for our helicopter flight having asked them to hold our order, which they did.
On return we had (a) steak so tough it could have been worn shoe leather (b) greasy sprouting broccoli (not the cauliflower ordered) and (c) a microscopic bit of salmon instead of the smoked salmon sandwich. A polite notification to staff elicited neither the offer of replacements or a refund.
Under no circumstances use this cafe if you want decent food accurately provided, at not ridiculously inflated prices and served in reasonable time. Bring sandwiches if you are taking a helicopter flight, because this is the only facility anywhere reasonably near the heliport.
The cafe staff did try to be helpful but clearly without result.....
