How to Get There
We visited on Friday 15th March for my birthday meal before going to the Theatre. We chose the restaurant as it just looked so lovely as we walked past to our hotel next door. What a fab time we had too, great food and super, friendly service with a special unexpected birthday treat too. The cherry/chocolate pudding was just to die for!! Thank you for making my birthday a special and memorable event! We hope to come and stay at the hotel soon too as we were so impressed with the bits we saw - we now want to have the full hotel experience!!
My husband and I have stayed in many London hotels over the years. Four Seasons, The Ritz, The Langham are just a few. NONE compare to Covent Garden Hotel. The staff was amazing, the decor was gorgeous, the food was perfection and the cleaning staff did an excellent job. The location was close to our favorite restaurants and within walking distance to the theaters and shopping. Staying at the Covent Garden Hotel will make your stay in London just that more special !
We stayed for one night for a special birthday. We rang to ask for our rooms to be ready before check in at 3pm. One room was ready at 1 but my son's room wasn't ready until 3pm. We were not given any info about the hotel on check in. Times of breakfast, wifi facilities etc. But we were given a voucher for a drink in the bar. However at 6 when we decided to have a drink the bar was full and the woman at the door was a bit off hand and she could have informed us about the library where we discovered later we could have had a drink as a guest. So we went out in the rain to find a bar before dinner, not easy on a Friday eve! The room was wonderful and so was the bathroom. Only thing missing was a kettle for tea or coffee. Breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious too.
A very good meal in top class surroundings. Excellent food and attentive service.
There is nothing to fault! From canapes before three course meal followed by coffee and chocs. Sorry when it was over. If there is one thing they could improve on … in the foyer there are too many staff. Do we really need two guys to open the door for us? .
I stayed at the Covent Garden Hotel for 5 nights in January 2019. I chose the hotel primarily on account of its location and that is the reason I’d go back. It was walking distance to most major art museums and theatres. Everything else was very nice, but there are a lot of nice hotels in London. The room, one of the smaller rooms, was very clean, the bed was comfortable and despite facing Shaftesbury Avenue it was reasonably quiet. The decor is an updated version of English country house traditional, and I thought was very well done. The breakfast was good and the staff was very attentive. I particularly liked the Drawing Room, a large furnished space on the first floor in which guests could relax and have a drink from the honor bar. The only issue is the cost. I believe the cost is reasonable in relation to other London hotels, but $500 a night is still a lot, at least to me. I will return though, when I feel flush.
