Felt cheated. Extremely disappointed.

We paid for 2 full days for what was effectively a one night stay as we had a 10pm flight to catch which meant checking out at 6pm on the second day. Even so, we understood the rules and were happy to bear the cost for having the convenience and comfort of checking out at a time that suited us.

With only a one night stopover in London, we’d selected this property based on the good reviews and excellent location. The location didn’t disappoint. However, everything else did.

What we didn’t realize was the fact that the room assigned was right above a gym running high energy classes early in the morning. So, exactly at 7am, we were all (including my toddler) were rudely awakened by the blasting of some ear-splitting, chest thumping, hip grinding, headache inducing, fast paced Zumba music being blasted from the gym. Did I mention ear-splitting??!! We had no idea where it was from or what it was for and endured it for 20 minutes before I decided to call the front desk, only to be told that there is absolutely nothing they can do other than to offer a room change (what is the point when we were going to be checking out that day?!) Apparently our room was the only affected one due to the location within the building so no other guests were complaining.

If this was a known problem about that particular room, why were we given the room in the first place, especially knowing that we had children traveling with us? Why was the front desk so nonchalant in dealing with my concern and offered no practical solution or compensation for our suffering? I asked for a manager to call me back, nobody did. No offer of apologies, zero, nothing. So much for priding themselves in good service.

As a result of that rude awakening, our one day in London was very much ruined, having to deal with a cranky toddler and the bitter after taste of facing bad customer service. This experience has left me so upset, I will never ever stay in or recommend this place to anyone.

The room was exactly as in the pictures. Very clean and with enough kitchen appliances.
The beds were very comfortable, the streets and surrounding rooms were very quiet.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.

It was the best option for our family trip. The location is amazing. You can walk to Trafalgar Square, London Eye, the Thames, Buckingham Palace and several fantastic attractions. Subway on the corner and if you opt to cook in the flat, there is also two places nearby to get all you need. I will definitely return!
