How to Get There
Blakes is like coming home to your own chic private club. Nestled in an elegant residential neighborhood, yet close in several directions to beautifully curated yet distinct and smart Kensington high streets, Blakes is an oasis of cultivated and beautifully designed calm. The photos of it online are accurate - and as someone experienced in a high-end property market, I know firsthand and instantly how photos can otherwise mislead. I’ve stayed at Blakes twice now in two different categories of rooms, each of which I loved. Which to return to next time? Hard to say because it’s like trying to select from your favorite items on the menu of a cherished restaurant. The reception, management, and concierge staff are non-pareil: friendly and almost mind-readingly attentive, but not cloying or obsequious (which I’ve found to be the case in some larger and otherwise excellent five-star hotels like the Ritz-Carlton). In any case, they seem to love what they do, and where they’re doing it. (You get the feeling that if you were to see any of them by chance around in Kensington, they’d be delighted by the serendipity of the encounter, and not pull that “pretend-not-to-see-glance-down-at-phone maneuver).
I am looking forward to visiting Blakes again. I’ve never felt compelled to write a review like this before, but memories of Blakes are coming back as I do, and I’m eager to make more.
We stayed two nights, I loved the location, our room was in the first floor, the only thing I did not like was that the bed was very high and it had no reading light.
The Staff in the Reception made my stay very special, they were so helpful booking restaurants or with directions.
Its a very good hotel, quiet at nights as its off the main road.
The equipments are little bit old so I worried
about the security but it is a beautiful building and room. Also all staffs
are so kind. They have a restaurant too, I wish I could have a breakfast. It must be nice.
Blake’s Hotel is in a perfect location on a quiet street near the Gloucester Road tube station, not far to museums and wonderful restaurants. Our room was small but charming. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Very busy bar area with lots of young but the noise and bustle looked fun.
stayed on the first floor, room at the front side, furnished in colonial-style which I really fancy; waking up in the morning in a such a comfortable bed was amazing; enjoyed the bathroom with freestanding bathtub; breakfast pricy but high quality and very delicious; love this product and sure to come back soon, big thanks to all of the team
