very good hotel, modern and clean, big rooms
Reviewed 5 days ago

we enjoyed our stay at the hotel, big rooms , modern design and facilities, very clean. good breakfast. the only two minor issues were the heating in the room that did not work and wasnt clear how to make them work, and the front desk staff, especially one of them which seems to be trainne and wasn't very nice or kind to anybody, in general it seems to have a lot of confortations with guests at the check in desk

First time staying in this hotel. And what an ordeal has been. Waiting in the lobby to switch to our 3rd room in less than 24 hrs. It has been one hour and I am waiting to go into the next room. First checking by a trainee was slow, room was terrible smelling like chemicals making it difficult to breath , then they moved us to our second room, we started to notice how hot it was but we felt awkward to complain . The next two hours or three were very very hot. We called front desk but phone didn’t work so my husband had to go to front desk hi self to ask someone to che k the heater. Nothing , we waited patiently for temperature to change , got ready to go to dinner on our way out talked to Manager very friendly guy, he send someone to check heater again and they added a fan and had to open the window. You think a 5 star hotel would have moved us by then but no. Instead we had someone opening the door on us thinking it was her room, yes we were undressed.
As I said before, one hour waiting as the Duty manager told me this morning “ pack your bags, we are truly sorry we will move you to another room, better room” Asked just now when the room will be ready and she responded “ oh no your room is not ready till the afternoon” well Thank god I asked
I haven’t shower this morning since the bathroom is so freaking hot my make up was melting and now I have no room and my bags with me!!!! Seriously!!!!
She send to room 416 just to shower there but is not my room..... wait is available but they cannot give it to me??? I am about to explote at this point....
leaving for a walk before I loose my temper, hopefully on my way back WE WILL HAVE A FINAL ROOM. Nothing free has been provided till now, not even a glass of water
The story will continue
NEVER STAY HERE, go somewhere else
Will write again for my next 24 hrs since it was paid in full at reservation.... get me out of here

Good base but feels like something is missing

Stayed here last weekend with my girlfriend for the 2nd time in 12 months. We enjoyed our first stay so when we decided to come back we booked the Blakemore again

Having read all of the recent reviews in the lead up to our trip we were worried about the building work but it appears it is all finished and the main lobby does look great.

The check in process was an ordeal, staff were very stressed, not very welcoming and very slow at checking in guests. There was only about 4 couples ahead of us in the queue to check in but we still had to wait ages. After about 30 mins we finally got checked in and our room was on the 4th floor. The room was fine, basic but clean

We had breakfast in the hotel and the woman who runs the breakfast and greets guests as they walk in was so nice, she remembered us from last year and she was so warm and friendly- all other staff should learn from this woman

The hotel is in a good location near Hyde park and only a few mins walk to Queensway train

After staying here twice I think it’s time for us to find a new hotel in London

One to remember

Good rooms, nice feel to hotel

Business trip staying over at this hotel.
First, looking from the outside it does look welcoming, and going in didn’t change my view, it’s very nice and an easy feel to the place. Check in was a little longer than I would normally expect, but all fine.
Rooms were good size and clean. Bathroom had usual with the free toiletries, which I like better than the despencers, the shower was good and fairy powerful with constant hot water. The fittings we nice.
Good sized bed, but I found it a little uncomfortable, probably needs a new mattress as it seemed lumpy.
Tea and coffee available in the room, but no bottled water!
The room has a fridge and a free safe, another thing I like to see.
Decor was really good, the room felt comfortable.
It has a tv with freeview channels.
Breakfast was in basement, but nice functional room, breakfast was ok, we paid for breakfast which I expect a cooked one but told cooked was an extra £5.50, which I found a little naughty but the continental option was fine.
Check out quick and easy, all in all decent hotel and a nice stay.
