How to Get There
Nice exterior and great restaurant attached. But let's be honest: the rooms, while well-appointed, are cramped. While this is common for London, I expected better for this hotel. It certainly tries to give the impression of being 'up market', but it can't quite pull it off. You have to crab-walk around the bed which fills most of the room, and toiletrires can only find space on the head of the bed. And heaven help you if you land a room near either of the two lifts - I never heard such noisy contraptions in an hotel. The service was very good - no quibbles there. But frankly, I'd like at least the impression of more space in a bedroom in London in the 21st Century.
Good points - hotel is clean, breakfast is fine, air conditioning works well, near to Euston train station,
Bad points - room too small, bathroom even smaller, not much privacy in bathroom as the door is frosted glass with small gap down one side! On the whole I felt it was overpriced.
Frequent business traveller and never previously submitted review, but rely heavily on Trip Advisor ratings. Refreshingly this hotel prompted me to lodge a review when I raised a complaint with them, so felt I should contribute to the community! Visited London solo during Wimbledon final and could not access usual hotel. Transferred here and allocated room with small desk (but comfortable king size bed) inadequate for my working needs. Notified reception of concerns and desire for greater working space and later that afternoon transferred to suitable room (larger desk, small but still comfortable bed). All done with great friendly manner and professionalism. Similar experience with booking cabs etc - very helpful and friendly. Great location with easy walk to public transport and nearby restaurants and shops. Free Nespresso machine and bottled water in rooms nice touches.
Bathrooms small but functional for with nice touch of heated towel rails. Excellent breakfast buffet and pretty good coffee. Free Wi-Fi easy to logon, reliable and reasonable speed. Website claims gym facilities, but in reality very small and dingy basement room with minimal equipment. Overall great staff significantly enhanced experience in a place with average physical facilities.
Checked in last Friday for a couple of nights into a standard double room. Staff are nice and efficient. The hotel is modern, clean and compact. Perhaps a tad more expensive for the size than I'd have expected but I rarely stay in London. Good location, room seemed well insulated and air conditioner working well against this warm summer. Provided complimentary water, coffee maker and a decent cooked breakfast. In the room I found myself struggling for places to put anything down, like a wash bag, clothes etc. Very limited room in bathroom, no shelves in there and ended standing the wash bag on the head of the bed!
Bed is described as a double, I'm six ft one and found myself sleeping on the diagonal ! Originally my wife intended to come but I'm pretty glad I was alone because we'd have been fighting for space and tripping over each other.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. I had booked 3 nights through the hotels’ website and had found a good deal (room plus breakfast). The room was *really* tiny, so tiny that toiletries were not in the bathroom but on the night table! And I’m rather short... I complained and was given an upgrade for nights 2&3, plus a smile.
Breakfast is good (including black pudding and sausage, and good croissants)
Wifi is a bit slow and for 1 device only, unless you pay extra
The area itself is nothing special but it’s close to St Pancras and Euston (lots of tube lines), buses, and a 20 mn walk to Soho. Ideal.
All in all: not a destination hotel, but a really good pick, depending on rates.
