Great location, well priced
Reviewed 1 day ago

Amba hotel Marble Arch is located very close to Selfridges and is an ideal location for families. Hyde park is across the road and multiple food options are available close by.

Families may consider taking the Studio Apartment - this comfortably sleeps a family of 4. Breakfast is included with room. In addition, unlimited access to lunge is available for whole family.

Nice hotel but....

This hotel is in a great location near Hyde Parks speakers corner. Close to tube station. Hotel is clean, service is good. However as we were checking out we were charged 60 pence for a local phone call. When you spend $300 per night on a room the charge for a phone call comes across as cheap and silly. Because of this silliness on our next visit to London we will look elsewhere.

Great location, very central for shops, tube station and restaurants

It was my 50th and there was a lovely cake in room for me and bottle of bubbles.

Hotel was clean, staff helpful. Room was clean and spacious, complimentary mini bar with my booking and the executive lounge had good wine and snacks were delicious.

iPads in room are great idea to add some music. Everything you need was catered for.

Have to admit the bed and pillows were so comfortable had great sleeps.

Breakfast was good, plenty of choice.
Would recommend and return

Pleasantly Surprised

I stayed at the Amba on business for 4 nights and have to say after expecting the worst, I was very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is located a stones throw from Marble Arch and within minutes of the big M&S and Selfridges.

There's no front to the hotel in the conventional sense so you enter through the back of the hotel and up some escalators to the reception. Once you get used to it, you realise it's no biggie at all. From check-in to departure I found the staff super helpful, very professional and friendly. It's quite a big hotel so I found this really impressive.

The room was spacious and well thought out. The free minibar with a small range of snacks and soft drinks (replenished daily) was a nice touch. Most importantly of all and what made me feel super comfortable, was that the rooms were immaculate. The bathrooms must have had a complete refit when the hotel was refurbished (it was once a Thistle Hotel). It was absolutely spotless and the shower over the bath superb with a glass screen instead of a dreaded shower curtain. The room was truly faultless.

Breakfast was my only bug bear but that's because I like peace and quiet in the morning and due to the size of the hotel, they have to get a decent number of covers through. You have to queue for hot stuff and though pretty good it was a bit of a bun fight at peak times. Don't be put off though. Service was good. Just don't picture a romantic breakfast for two ;0)

Last but by no means least, there's a really nice coffee shop that leads off the hotel's reception area. I sat there a couple of times to grab a bite. There's plenty of space, the wifi is excellent (throughout the hotel) and the prices were surprisingly reasonable. As ever the staff were very personable.

Highly recommend. A truly good 4* hotel which is quite a rare find in London. One last mention for the delightful Irish doorman.

Breakfast was the best part of this hotell

Unfortunately not that impressed with this hotel. Rooms were clean and spacious, and had everything you might need; toiletries, iron board, robe, free minibar (milk that gone sour, coke, chips, chocolate bar, water). Breakfast was various and plenty, everything I wanted and more. Location was great!

Why not impressed: no sustainability mindset at all, I guess this hotel had around 800 rooms, each having an iPad, robes, iron board, iron etc. I preferred hotels with a list of items to order extra, free of charge.
Asked for a quiet room but didn’t sleep at all during second night due to sounds from corridor, my colleague experienced the same.
