How to Get There
This time we decided to stay not in in the Dorchester but in its brother just across the street.
Our view - it is a very good hotel: design, location, food, stuff are excellent.
Room servicing is a bit below expectation. But the strangest thing - two mistakes in a final bill.
This luxury hotel faces Hyde Park and takes full advantage of the location. The lobby and restaurant with their high ceilings allow full sunlight into these areas while blocking the street level pedestrians. Warm, friendly and inviting when you arrive, eat, or exit. The rooms are equally bright with modern amenities and furnishings. And provide the close views of the park. The staff are equally warm in their service and efficiency, making you feel very welcome. They are interested in assuring you make the most of your visit. I would highly recommend this superb hotel.
Rooms are gorgeous (expensive of course, but really nice). Beautiful view of the park, all the technology and amenities you expect from The Dorchester.
Everything about this hotel screams Dorchester, and if you're a fan, like me, then you will love this edition of The Dorchester.
They have a nice bar as well, perfect for a pre dinner drink, or post dinner drink (though they don't stay open too late)
The restaurant and breakfast you can skip, go across the street to The Dorchester (the original one) for a classic English approach (you get access to everything there as well if you stay at 45; make sure you try their bar in the back).
Definitely the best pied-a-terre in London.
*Note, we visited in July 2017.
A quaint, boutique hotel in Mayfair, you feel like you live here. From the welcoming doormen to reception who seem to recognise you before you’ve even checked in.
We adored the Park View room, spacious (almost suite sized) and comfortable. They mean it when they say the rooms are quiet. The soundproofing was superb for London. And don’t forget the aromatherapy baths!
One cannot fault the location. Other than the fact the nearest tube was 5-10 minutes walk away, 45 Park Lane is walkable to the Victoria theatre, Oxford and SoHo districts. Not to mention it’s just opposite Hyde Park.
Breakfast - I suggest a short stroll to the sister Dorchester hotel. The buffet range and quality, service is superior to the restaurant at 45 Park Lane.
Yes, we do like the Beaumont and Corinthia also. But 45 Park Lane and the Dorchester group have never disappointed.
Always a pleasure to have to make the decision of whether or not to go to 45 Park Lane or the 'big sister' hotel, The Dorchester. This is a lovely place with good food. Somewhere to enjoy ourselves as we always do.
