Overview

The Review

The designers and owners of Chester Place had this in mind: to give people the opportunity to rent a beautiful and luxurious townhouse in the heart of London that feels like their own house. They brought in stellar architects and interior designers like Jayne Wunder to give the property a modern revamp that blends in seamlessly with the neighborhood’s neoclassical and Regency architecture.

Downy sofas and original 1950s Eames lounge chairs flank the fireplace in the drawing room; it’s the perfect place to lose the afternoon napping or reading a book — so don’t get sucked in while visiting the British capital.

Some of best perks of this property include the possibility of hiring a private chef to cater to your culinary whims. There’s a basement area with an office, nursery and playroom for children, making the property a smart high-end choice for family travelers.

Luxury and comfort aside, Chester Place is a historic property with a colorful past. This elegant 19th-century building is the work of famed architect John Nash. Charles Darwin briefly lived here, in the thick of elegant homes and the green and leafy expanses of Regent’s Park. It’s a place that hums with living history — a classic British home that’s connected to the past but maintains a firmly modern point of view.

Perfect (Again)

Just had another 3 nights here having first been last October.

This time we went for the wife's 40th birthday to get to get to see Chester a bit more than we did last time.

We stayed in the King Executive suite this time and were not dissapointed. Loads of room with a very comfy King size bed. Bathroom was huge with bath and shower accessed from the bedroom via a set of wardrobe doors which was really quirky and like opening the doors to Narnia.

All the usual facilities you would expect at this standard, tea/coffee, ironing equipment, mini fridge with 2 free bottles of water per day. Wardrobe with hangers, safe, soaps and shower gels etc etc.

Standard of breakfast is really high. All the cereals you could imagine with croisants and fruit. Then there's the hot choice. All sorts. From eggs florentine, eggs benedict, omlettes, boiled eggs and my favorite the full English. Which I had 3 (not at the same I must add).

Stone Villa is (scuse the punn) a stones throw from the centre of Chester. About 20 minutes and you're there. It's location is probably one of it's main features as it's set at the end of a cul de sac with no other passing traffic or public and it's also on the next street which has loads of pubs, restaurants, mini markets or take aways. Plenty of private parking is also available outside for residents only.

This place is spotlessly clean and has very friendly staff who would do anything for you. This is from the top down from owners to cleaning staff. They left a nice happy birthday balloon for the wife in the bedroom for her.

Should we return to Chester again we wouldnt look anywhere else and would highly recommend Stone Villa to anyone wishing to visit the area. Thanks to Dave, Kirsty, Hicham and all the staff again for another lovely stay.

If you're reading this please don't hesitate to book.

Hi Everyone.

We stayed 2 nights mid week in late January to celebrate my wife’s birthday and to visit the zoo.

We arrived mid afternoon and parked up easy as the hotel has plenty of free parking. We were treated to a nice slice of victoria sponge and a cuppa whilst we settled in which I thought was a rather nice welcoming touch.

The room (Nr4) was an executive class with a super king sized bed (huge) and had everything we needed. Superbly comfortable, clean, cosy and quiet - just the ticket. I had also added the pamper package of bathrobes, Prosecco and chocolates so we were extra cosseted :-)

Breakfast was a delight. A marvellous cooked ‘fresh on request’ selection, supplemented with a help yourself buffet of juices, fruits, yoghurts, cereals and pastries.

The hotel is really well located with a number of nice bars and restaurants within 5 minutes walk. We had a superb celebratory meal at ‘Sticky Walnut’ (See separate review) and had a couple of good cocktails at ‘The suburbs’. We found that The Zoo is less than 10 minutes drive away.

We cannot fault the Stone Villa, wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it and look forward to staying again in the near future.

Just lovely. Thank you Dave & Kirsty.

Very civilized and pleasant!

First visit to Chester, and we were off to a great start with our stay at Stone Villa. Our hosts were very helpful, our room was just fine, the breakfast offerings were of top quality and prepared to order. Location permitted us to explore Chester on foot, which is a great way to see the area. I would not hesitate to recommend Stone Villa to anyone who wanted a different experience than that of a chain hotel. Many thanks for a pleasant stay!

Amazing Stay!

I booked the Stone Villa as a surprise getaway for my boyfriends 21st birthday and our anniversary, and we were both so glad we did! We travelled all the way from Edinburgh and when we arrived straight away had great service that included carrying my heavy case to our room. The breakfast was spot on! We had the same thing every morning because it was so good! All of the staff were great. They asked our plans for the day and then next morning would remember and ask how our day was. They were more than happy to recommend places to eat and anything we needed was no hassle at all. It made our stay extra special and we will 100% be back, and definitely recommend to anyone interested! The rooms were lovely and very clean. Thank you to everyone at the Stone Villa for making it so special as this was the first time we both were able to get away just the two of us and we couldn’t be happier. Special thanks to Esham,(hopefully spelt his name correct) he was there every day of our stay and was so polite and helpful!

Kind Regards,
Nikki & Jake
