Luxe stay at boutique hotel with design-led rooms and outdoor pool on the Greek island of Santorini - includes welcome drink, bottle of wine and more

The Lowdown

The clue’s in the title at this newly opened boutique stunner in Santorin’s hilltop village of Pyrgos. Not only does Impressive One Santorini impress with minimalist Cycladic architecture, very thoughtful interiors, and first-class service, but its location near to four fabulous beaches makes it ideal for those wanting to do little more than check in, zone out, and spend hours staring at the glittering Aegean Sea.

For such a tiny place, everything here makes a big impact. There are 15 guest rooms and suites, all of which are resolutely chic and come with lashings of whites, greys and soft blues, streamlined furnishings, queen-size beds, and plenty of living space. Further luxe touches include flat-screen TVs, beautiful bathrooms, and private balconies for all-day chilling.

Sunny days can be spent lazing under thatched umbrellas by the outdoor pool, sipping made-to-order cocktails in the all-white bar, and watching the epic sunsets that have made this island so famous. And just in case you do fancy a post-sunbathing cultural fix, the island’s cosmopolitan capital of Thira, with its museums, galleries, cathedrals and donkey rides, is just three miles away.

Theft of valuables. Very bad experience

A fair bit of warning before you enter this property : leave your valuables at home, your phone and even clothes at home. They are not safe here and if you try to ask for help decently the senior staff threatens you to call the police, very well knowing that a tourist from another country who leaves the next day cannot very well afford to get into this kind of mess.

Before going on this medium, i tried decently to contact them them by mail but after no response to what i believe is the most important requirement for any hospitality business, goods security of guests, I am forced ro write this review.

Me and my husband stayed at your hotel, check in 22 June and check out 25th June. My phone, model iPhone 6s with a cover on it was stolen from your hotel on 24th. When we approached your staff on 24th regarding this incident, the lady at the front desk claimed that no staff could be responsible for the same and instead of calling for a check intimidated us by threatening to call the police. This intimidation and the fact that we had to leave the next day else would have missed our connection, stopped us from taking any action regarding this. We tried to whtsapp call the phone and it was ringing on that date. If your staff would have been as receptive as your site claims and also if your hotel was keen on making ones vacation as memorable as they again claim, they would be keen to help their guests with the same and the phone could have been recovered. The phone was a gift to me from my mother, who is no longer with us and held great emotional significance even though it was an older model.
Also found missing from our suitcase was a Nautica, dark blue printed full sleeves shirt of my husband's, but again seeing the attitude of the staff we did not come forward with this complaint.
Yours is a relatively new property and this is definitely not a precedence which you would like to set for your future guests, as this I'm sure will not be the last of such complaints if the culprit/culprits are not found.
I wish i could give a negative rating to this property.
I however sincerely believe that if the management tries it can redress this situation and only after no response on mail i am writing this review hoping that some action would be taken.

Mixed review

First off the staff was extremely helpful and polite. The food was excellent as was the service. The room was clean and accept for traffic the hotel itself is very tranquil. Pool is very refreshing after a long hot day of exploring. My only complaint is the AC. I am from FL and am very used to the heat as long as we have AC! I didn’t think mine was working and was told by staff that that is how they all work after asking for a different room. They did bring me a fan which was somewhat helpful. I was also able to open the windows at night for a nice breeze however I didn’t feel comfortable sleeping that way since we were so close to a very busy road. Located very close to a nice winery but I didn’t feel comfortable walking due to no sidewalks and very busy road. Overall my stay was nice, just a little warmer in my room than I would have liked.

Really Impressive!

This hotel is not only beautiful but it is well maintained (very clean). All the people that work there are warm and helpful. The hotel is also conveniently located a 5 minute walk away from Santo Wines Winery. George, the hotel manager, is an absolutely beautiful person. He gave my husband and I directions countless times, ordered our ATV, recommended things for us to do... I can't say enough about him! I highly recommend this place.
