Overview

Luxe stay at boutique hotel with design-led rooms and outdoor pool on the Greek island of Santorini - includes welcome drink, bottle of wine and more

The Lowdown

The clue’s in the title at this newly opened boutique stunner in Santorin’s hilltop village of Pyrgos. Not only does Impressive One Santorini impress with minimalist Cycladic architecture, very thoughtful interiors, and first-class service, but its location near to four fabulous beaches makes it ideal for those wanting to do little more than check in, zone out, and spend hours staring at the glittering Aegean Sea.

For such a tiny place, everything here makes a big impact. There are 15 guest rooms and suites, all of which are resolutely chic and come with lashings of whites, greys and soft blues, streamlined furnishings, queen-size beds, and plenty of living space. Further luxe touches include flat-screen TVs, beautiful bathrooms, and private balconies for all-day chilling.

Sunny days can be spent lazing under thatched umbrellas by the outdoor pool, sipping made-to-order cocktails in the all-white bar, and watching the epic sunsets that have made this island so famous. And just in case you do fancy a post-sunbathing cultural fix, the island’s cosmopolitan capital of Thira, with its museums, galleries, cathedrals and donkey rides, is just three miles away.

Too expensive for what it is

The staff was great, very helpful and nice.

However, I think this hotel is way too expensive for what it offers. Next to a very noisy road (right next to the pool), so you wouldn't want to chill there.

Refused to offer a refund even though our ferry was cancelled
Reviewed 3 months ago

We were unable to stay at the hotel having booked for three nights because our ferry was cancelled. Clearly not our fault yet, despite repeated requests, they refused to offer us a refund for more than one night (on the basis that we may have been able to alter our plans and get to the Island by some other means or company).

I have never felt as cheated as this and would not book this hotel again as it clearly was quite unmoved by our plight, entirely not of our own making.

We may well have booked again for later in the month but not now.

Avoid.

Amazing Staff

We stayed here for my wedding. The staff were some of the nicest people I've ever come across they were so helpful and lovely. The pool is beautiful the property is always clean and the rooms are luxurious, spacious and well kept. I would highly recommend this property.

Great hotel with amazing staff!

We stayed here for a week in September while celebrating a friends wedding. The hotel is great - rooms are big and clean, the pool area is nice, and the kitchen does a pretty varied menu (with a great breakfast).

The staff at this hotel really stand out, as with other reviews you’ll read. From the lady in the kitchen who is happy to oblige with any egg request you can think of - to the staff at the front desk (I believe they’re the owners) - these are some of the nicest hotel staff you’ll ever encounter.

One hang up is the location - if you’re staying here, make sure you have a car or ATV, because there’s not too much within walking distance. This isn’t the hotels fault though, just something for travellers to be weary of. A cab into Thira is usually €15 - but this can double at night time. I also wouldn’t stay at this hotel if you wanted a view of the sunset, etc.

Highly recommend if you want a hotel slightly out of the main part of town.

Staff are amazing!

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights/ 5 days from the 2nd-6th of September. As soon as we arrived the receptionist was brilliant. It was as if having a personal assistant and she really went above and beyond for us. She booked us horse riding, a boat cruise and a massage and all our taxis. We did not have to struggle at all. The hotel itself is very clean and modern. Everything is new and in great condition. The room was cleaned every day and breakfast was very tasty. The food in the hotel is very tasty. The area itself is a little secluded but the taxis are reasonable e.g. 15 euros to go into Fira, 35 euros to go to Oia. Although this is a bus nearby so there is also that option as well.

10-15 minutes walk away there are some good restaurants (however, the walk is not very pleasant, there is no pavement or street lights and nobody stops at zebra crossings here so make sure you wait until its clear)

The only improvements I would suggest is having a small plastic sheet over the croissants/ bread to avoid flies landing on them. The hotel is also quite tight with toilet paper and shower gel - we had to ask a couple of times for more. The toilet paper is also very thin.

Other than that it was very enjoyable with great staff. All the staff were super helpful and they go above and beyond. Eleni (I think is here name, on reception) was brilliant!
