Love the kampung style

Room is spacious, facilities are great. It's just that, your trainee staff at reception counter still do not know much regarding room's location. It's monsoon there when I checked-in last week. My mom is on her wheelchair. Two of the trainees escort us to our room after check-in, and they stop in the middle of the way as they did not found the way to the room, in the rain. My family and I decided to get into the room even though it was raining as it was already 5pm. My mom really frustrated when she has to stop on the way to the room, and asked me why stop. I said they did not know the way to the room, until one of them called a guy receptionist to escort us to our room. Other than this matter, everything is just great. Buffet breakfast is awesome, my parent had Nasi Dagang which is so delicious, staff at Di Atas Sungei are awesome and warmth, their housekeepers smile always to us. Anyway, thank you very much for the hospitality from your team to my parent and myself, I really appreciate that. Please improve on trainee staff at the reception as reception is the first impression which customer's value the service of one hotel. Thank you.

Luxury beach side home away from home

Tanjong Jara Resort, a business class stay, with the added touch of care, warm hospitality and lots of nature.
Walked in to the lobby for check in to be personally welcomed by Frank the Resort Manager.
Great room with great view. I dedicate this post however to photos of food and drinks! Food quality is just superb. Special shout out to Mukunda and Hamdan & team for your kind hospitality at the Teratai bar and Di atas Sungai restaurant!
If you are looking for a restful stay close to nature and a serene getaway... This is it!

An Oasis of Luxury on Malaysia’s East Coast

Tanjong Jara Resort is an Oasis of luxury & excellent service on Malaysia’s East Coast. It’s architecture imparts a feeling of living in a Malay Village with modern amenities & a back to nature ambiance set next to a beach & River mouth .

The resort is self contained & there is little reason to venture outside even for food as the in house restaurants ( Di Atas Sungai & Nelayan ) serve excellent cuisine with the added bonus of freshly caught seafood prepared to a very high standard. Special mention goes to the Buttermilk Prawns & Scallop & the traditional Nasi Dagang Terengganu style .

The staff were genuinely warm & friendly & we enjoyed the morning exercises in the gardens before breakfast.

Highly recommended holiday stay & we hope to make a return visit in the near future

If you go you won't want to leave.

My Fiance, Daughter and myself had the absolute pleasure of being graced with a long weekend at this resort. If you are in need of a recharge and to loose touch with modern society for a period then this is the place to do that. Boasting utter tranquillity and peace. The sound of the constant rolling south China sea waves in harmony with the vibrant surrounding wildlife is simply unforgettable. My only regret is that we could not stay longer. Wholeheartedly welcomed on arrival by the manager and his entourage of staff and then guided through the lush gardens to our weekend retreat. Only issue we had was the external door wouldn't close flush but within an hour it was fixed. With 2 pool areas and 3 restaurants there's something for everyone and on this special occasion we chose to indulge in one of the bespoke 7 course meal and settings which really was a spectacle. I cannot say enough about this place. The hotel staff be it at reception, in any restaurant or even the garden keepers were testament to any hotel. My 1 year old was the star of the show most days when ever we went for a meal as she was carted off and being paraded around by the restaurant staff. I really could go on and on about the place from the restaurant quality to activities to even having a turtle sanctuary, the place is awesome. I hope we have the chance to return. It is expensive but worth every penny.

Leaking roof during thunderstorm
Reviewed 1 month ago

The location is quiet nice within a protected cove and a beach that is safe for swimming (as other areas are prone to strong undercurrents and rocks). We stayed for a night however during a heavy thunderstorm, our chalet was leaking at the roof on top of our bed and winds were strong enough to lash our front door with rain water making its way through the bottom of the door. We requested for a discount however was turned down. They did offer to shift to another chalet but it was already late at night (about 10pm) and we had a lot of luggage, therefore we opted to stay put hoping the rains would stop. Fortunately it stopped before midnight.
