How to Get There
We spent a week in VD in June this year, and loved every minute.
The location could not be better. It’s the best view in town that vows you from the moment you arrive, and gets better and better as you move to the rooms, pool, restaurants and bars. Every room has a balcony or terrace overlooking the beautiful blue Adriatic, with the picture postcard view of the Old Town or the island of Lokrum, or both, thrown in for good measure! VD is close to the Old Town and all the action there, yet secluded and private. And being right by the sea, with it’s own beach, is a big bonus!
The service was excellent throughout, from the welcome on arrival till our departure. It was a perfect balance of friendly and professional, welcoming and efficient, attentive yet discreet.
Breakfast was very generous, with plenty of choice and freshly made to order. Restaurant staff were wonderful and very accommodating. When we arrived late for breakfast we were served without a blink and didn’t feel rushed for a second (what a difference to our experience in a 5* hotel in Germany when the restaurant manager turned us away tapping on their watch because we arrived 10 minutes before the end of breakfast service). We had lunch and dinner at the Villa most days and enjoyed both menus. Lunch menu was light and simple, just right for the hot weather, while dinner menu was refined and included some traditional local dishes which we enjoyed very much. The rooftop Sky Bar is fantastic for aperitifs or post dinner drink and not to be missed!
It is very tempting not to leave this wonderful place at all, but if you decide to, staff will arrange guided tours or day trips, restaurant bookings, activities, etc. The Villa also offers their own airport transfer so one feels welcome and in good hands from the moment of arriving in Dubrovnik.
For us, the only downside was that we had to leave eventually. So, we came back for more in September, and had just as fantastic stay again!
We loved it here. We stayed 2 nights here and 2 nights Hotel Excelsior and for us we preferred Villa Dubrovnik. Its stunning, amazing view and gorgeous hotel. The staff were lovely and great service. The room was big and loved the little touches. highly recommend the spa here, all the little things they do at the spa to go above the normal were lovely. Had a great massage. Pool & sauna were amazing too. You have to sit at the beach bit if you go here, its lovely and we loved we could have food and drinks there too. highly recommend this hotel.
went to have lunch at this beatifull place , view is spectacular service is good but after ordering mussels I started to feel very bad and spend a whole day with diarreah and vomiting !! As I was travelling with a group of Doctors , they all agreed : FOOD POISONING !!! the next day I went to the Hotel to talk to the manager and after a very polite meeting she told me , they would get back to me via Mail . They did ! Paula Franic wrote me a very dissapointing answer : we have very strong HACCP rules and this is NOT ALLOWED TO HAPPEN IN OUR HOTEL !!!! I never expected such a stupid answer from a well known Hotel . things like that happen because your kitchen personel is human , and humans make mistakes ,
tripadvisor is asking me to reconsider my review because there might be a mistake , but there is no mistake at all !!! I have 10 witnesses on what happened and 2 of them are well known Doctors
I have been asked several times now by tripadvisor to reconsider my review !!!! Please , if you dont want to post negative reports , just let me know and spare me the trouble of rewriting and confirming what I already did write and expierienced !!!!!
