Be one of the first to to stay at the gleaming new Royal Blue Hotel (opening in the spring), near the exquisite UNSECO World Heritage city of Dubrovnik on Croatia’s glorious Lapad Peninsula. The latest addition to the prestigious Importanne Resort (with four other hotels in the complex)), it looks set to be a real ace in the pack. Boasting fabulous views over the Adriatic’s turquoise waters towards the Elephati Islands, the star of the show has to be the amazing rooftop pool, where the stunning vistas will have you floating on cloud nine. Stretch out on a designer lounger and contemplate the inspirational panorama, where sea and sky seem to meld together.
It’s just a few steps down to the sea, where you can take a dip in the amazingly clear waters off a sheltered Blue Flag pebble beach or relax with a tipple at On The Rocks beach bar. If you fancy a spot of pampering you’ll find the wellness zone is a sublime oasis of calm. Elsewhere are three restaurants, from casual to fine dining, all with terraces embracing those jaw-dropping views. Importanne Resort is a worthy TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice winner, with previous guests showering it with perfect scores. We’re sure Royal Blue Hotel will up the standard even further.
How to Get There
Had one week in Dubrovnic and this hotel made our stay. We took a Jet 2 package and had a deluxe room with balcony and sea view. It was superb. We had room 5404 which was perfectly positioned with panoramic views out to sea. The hotel is U shaped so not all rooms have this view. So be careful where you're room is located - the hotel is not cheap. Room itself was excellent. Spacious, very comfortable and of a very high standard. Staff are very friendly helpful and attentive. Hotel has fabulous rooftop infinity pool and bar.
Lapad area is a short bus ride (15 Kuna each way) from Dubrovnic old town and we were very happy with hotel location. From our hotel there were very nice promenade walks and access to rocky beachfront bathing.
The old town is fabulous but utterly mobbed and, quite frankly, spoiled by Cruise ship day-visitors - of which there is a constant stream. My advice is choose a hotel location (like Royal Blue) but well away from the old town. (Cavtat town, too, is a lovely quiet location about 25 mins in bus). Go into old town early morning or later at night. Good restaurants and cafes and, of course, everything is expensive.
Recommend this hotel...insist on room 5404! (or one very close to it)
I have been to Dubrovnik a couple times and no experience compared to the one I received at Royal Blue Hotel. Staff and general manager are very pleasant and go out of their way to make guests have an enjoyable stay. Rooms are fantastic and beds are very comfortable. The view is amazing as well.. best sunset in Dubrovnik! Bus stop is located just steps from the hotel making it very easy to get to the old city. Definitely would recommend staying here if visiting Dubrovnik.
I stayed at the Royal Blue Hotel and it was such an amazing experience. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. They made my stay here very comfortable. I would 100% come back to Dubrovnik for this hotel and resort.
