Be one of the first to to stay at the gleaming new Royal Blue Hotel (opening in the spring), near the exquisite UNSECO World Heritage city of Dubrovnik on Croatia’s glorious Lapad Peninsula. The latest addition to the prestigious Importanne Resort (with four other hotels in the complex)), it looks set to be a real ace in the pack. Boasting fabulous views over the Adriatic’s turquoise waters towards the Elephati Islands, the star of the show has to be the amazing rooftop pool, where the stunning vistas will have you floating on cloud nine. Stretch out on a designer lounger and contemplate the inspirational panorama, where sea and sky seem to meld together.
It’s just a few steps down to the sea, where you can take a dip in the amazingly clear waters off a sheltered Blue Flag pebble beach or relax with a tipple at On The Rocks beach bar. If you fancy a spot of pampering you’ll find the wellness zone is a sublime oasis of calm. Elsewhere are three restaurants, from casual to fine dining, all with terraces embracing those jaw-dropping views. Importanne Resort is a worthy TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice winner, with previous guests showering it with perfect scores. We’re sure Royal Blue Hotel will up the standard even further.
How to Get There
Visited this fabulous hotel as we were celebrating a special occasion.
We stayed for 7 nights.
Fantastic room with beautiful views, really helpful and polite staff.
This stay was made extra special by Tom the GM and his amazing team. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt so comfortable it was hard to leave at the end of the stay.
A special thanks to all the reception staff: Maria, Katarina and the entire team and also Ante at Zoe’s restaurant who was one of the best waiters I have come across with an ever ready smile.
Tom, you are doing an amazing job at the resort, keep up the excellent work and we hope to see you soon.
So the property is good overall. Right on the water, and four pools to choose from! Room is comfy and bathroom is nice. We had a sea view room which was an awesome view, however, try to make sure you have a full on view (we had to change rooms initially)
Only giving four stars b/c the breakfast is bad. Service and food are both poor. The AC could also use a bump. But aside from that a great stay!
Impressive hotel in a quiet location. Sea view rooms are best on a higher level. Excellent housekeeping standards, beautiful decor, new hotel. Infinity roof top pool for over 18’s, and other swimming areas for all - pool and sea - with sun beds at the pools and on the rocks-well spaced out and plenty of them. Breakfast good selection although hot food could be a little warmer. Only negative was the wasps-hotel should get rid of the wasps nests and it would be more pleasant eating outdoors at breakfast and having a drink at the bar. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
Royal blue was an amazing hotel fantastic location amazing views wonderful location close to everything just up steps bus to the old town and from the back of the hotel lots of restaurants and places to stop and enjoy the sunset. Royal blue hotel staff were polite helpful and professional nothing was too much trouble and the cleanliness was to an extremely high standard. Lots of pools to enjoy along with a roof top terrace with an adults only pool. Thanks again royal blue hotel.
First off there's the Roof Terrace.... Wow what a view , especially from the infinity pool.
Real 5 star feel.
Rooms are also really special. Sumptous beds , big balconies with fantastic views out to sea. Great air con and lovely bathroom.
We were on half board. As the hotel is part of a group you can eat breakfast in at least 3 places just give your room number. The breakfast in our hotel wasn't our favorite.
The food area is to small. If there is more than 5 people trying to get food you are tripping over each other. The standard of the breakfast is Ok but definitely not 5 star.
We had dinner included and could also use 3 restaurants. We found the standard of dinner better than breakfast. there was a decent selection. You then sign or pay extras for drinks.
Service is a bit hit and miss. people are friendly but there aren't enough of them. Sometimes there was no one at the bar to serve you, let alone coming round and asking if you wanted anything.
One big moan is the lack of bottled water in the room. You can pay at the mini bar but for this level of hotel you should really have complimentary water in the room.
Its therefore expensive to keep hydrated throughout the day. On the first day we spent on the roof terrace they had complimentary flavoured water. that's a good thing I thought.
It never appeared again for the rest of the holiday. Why?
Overall we really enjoyed the stay but agree with other reviews that this is not a 5 star experience although some 'bits' are 5 star. As mentioned at the start of the review.
Bottom line I would stay again for the lovely rooms and gorgeus roof top bar and pool
