Be one of the first to to stay at the gleaming new Royal Blue Hotel (opening in the spring), near the exquisite UNSECO World Heritage city of Dubrovnik on Croatia’s glorious Lapad Peninsula. The latest addition to the prestigious Importanne Resort (with four other hotels in the complex)), it looks set to be a real ace in the pack. Boasting fabulous views over the Adriatic’s turquoise waters towards the Elephati Islands, the star of the show has to be the amazing rooftop pool, where the stunning vistas will have you floating on cloud nine. Stretch out on a designer lounger and contemplate the inspirational panorama, where sea and sky seem to meld together.
It’s just a few steps down to the sea, where you can take a dip in the amazingly clear waters off a sheltered Blue Flag pebble beach or relax with a tipple at On The Rocks beach bar. If you fancy a spot of pampering you’ll find the wellness zone is a sublime oasis of calm. Elsewhere are three restaurants, from casual to fine dining, all with terraces embracing those jaw-dropping views. Importanne Resort is a worthy TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice winner, with previous guests showering it with perfect scores. We’re sure Royal Blue Hotel will up the standard even further.
How to Get There
Cannot say in words how nice this place is, we’ve stayed at more expensive hotels up the road before and this is by far the better choice. Sea view rooms are out of this world, rooftop pool and bar are great to chill out in the evening and the pool area is great for a bit of cliff diving! It was my partners birthday whilst we were there and the staff went above and beyond to welcome us, thank you all
My partner and I have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Dubrovnik. We chose this particular hotel having looked on Tripadvisor before choosing which 5 star hotel to book. The bedroom was really spacious and very nicely decorated ... with a lovely carpet instead of a cold wooden floor!
The only negative about the room is there was just one small wardrobe but there’s plenty of space to have had two of them .. one half of the wardrobe had a couple of shelves and a safe; the other half was for hanging clothes ... so if you’re a couple and staying for a week (or maybe 2 weeks) there really isn’t enough space to hang things up. Having said that there is a nice chest of drawers on each side of the lovely king sized bed.
The staff is very good ... all extremely polite and helpful. We ate at Zoe on three occasions ... lovely food and great service.
The rooftop infinity pool is gorgeous and it’s great that it’s Adults-only!
The hotel is only a two minute walk from a very good regular bus service so you can easily get to and from the old city, which is only 15 mins away by bus.
We’d definitely stay here again and can highly recommend it.
Had a weeks stay here. The hotel was beautiful, as were the rooms. The rooftop pool was fantastic. The down side is the staff need much more training. Breakfast was not to a 5star standard that I have seen in various hotels, (dirty glasses and poor quality of food.) The staff at breakfast need to work their own sections as we waited half an hour for toast. The tables were never cleared from previous quests, it was like faulty towers. We did not receive a turn down service and the housekeeping standards were ok but not great. One final point there was no bar when we came back in the evening to have a nightcap and it wasn’t due to the pool bar having to open early in the morning because it didn’t open until 10am. Would I come back, probably not.
We stayed here for 1 week in June and we loved it! The room and balcony was very spacious and the bed was so comfortable. The sea view was amazing and was definitely worth paying extra. All the staff from reception, restaurant and housekeeping were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Vista restaurant served lunch which was really good and there was plenty of variety for breakfast. However the alcoholic drinks were expensive – we paid about £22 for 2 gins with 20% off! The roof top adult pool was really nice with amazing sea views and the pool on the ground floor was also nice with plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas. There was good transport links to the old town, the bus stop is near the hotel but it can get overcrowded, we also took a taxi for about £10. We walked the city walls and you really do need to go early to avoid the heat and the crowds coming in from the cruise ships – too many cruise ships in my opinion. There is a lovely promenade in front of the hotel with plenty of restaurants to choose from. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would love to come back.
We came to Dubrovnik to look at wedding reception venues and were looking at a space at the hotel next door to royal blue. However we did a food tasting for the wedding at the royal blue hotel and it was a very nice experience. The food was amazing and there was great attention to detail. We were looked after by a fantastic waiter named Ante who could not have been more attentive. We can highly recommend eating here and the views from the roof terrace at sunset.
