How to Get There
We had an awesome experience at breakfast this morning. We were greeted by our friendly hostess Abdul and he took care of us throughout the entire meal. The breakfast was delicious and Abdul’s company kept us laughing. Thanks for a bright morning.
Room was super dark and tiny, facing the lobby rather than outside so natural light was minimal. Bathroom old/dreary, not the marble/nicer tile of the typical Heavenly Bath. Floor looked like the floor in McDonald's but a neutral color rather than brick red. Room service delivered in a bag, with disposable containers, and wasn't good. Depressing experience! Fake Starbucks in lobby dispenses Sbux coffee but doesn't take your Starbucks card. Hotel feels very 70s. Location is right downtown, I'll say that!
Extremely disappointing from the start. I am a Bonvoy Gold Elite member and typically like to stay at a Westin if I can. I made this reservation 2 months prior to my stay for a major convention. Regretted choosing this hotel as soon as I walked in. Decor in the lobby is dated and not luxurious like the Westin typically is. Rooms are small and nothing special. I was given what is likely the worst room in the hotel- room 110- which overlooks the noisy lobby and bar area and is next to an ice machine. (My profile specifically says I am not supposed to be next to an ice machine). I requested to be moved the first night (and asked why I was given the room to begin with as it was contrary to the requests on my profile) and was told I could not be moved, no rooms available but they could move me the next morning. It was not noisy that night so I opted not to move the next morning. Big mistake. It’s been very loud all night and is approaching midnight and I am unable to sleep. I called the front desk to complain and they said the bar shut down at 11 Pm
So should be quieting down). I am falling sick and really need the rest. The room service was also terrible- in quality and the eco delivery meant ice water or wine arrived in plastic cups which tipped over in the bag so leaked all over. This stay has ranked in the top few worst stays I ever had. Thanks Westin DC for nothing
