How to Get There
As a family of 4, we truly enjoyed a short vacation in DC with Westin DC. The breakfast is the best and Emebet is a truly delightful and great waitress that made our morning with warmest welcome and always there to check in and make sure we have the best experience. We will be back again!!!!
Being a frequent visitor to Washington SC, I have had the opportunity to stay at most of its four- and five-star hotels. Unless I have been exceptionally badly treated, I refrain from commenting as it is only normal to be well treated at such locations.
In the case of the Westin Downtown DC, I feel obliged to comment, as I have had an exceptionally pleasant stay starting from the check in where the staff, Chris, Christelle, Nahid, and Jenny were efficient, warm and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent where Alam runs a tight ship and her staff are ready to serve with a smile in the morning, Miguel makes superb omelletes. The concierge Cynthia is most professional and has all the outstanding addresses from restaurants to spas, to emergency medical treatment.
Faye, the Front Office Manager from what I could see he pretty much runs everything very efficiently and the guests and the staff are equally delighted by his perpetual smile, and refined approach. He manages to overcome the shortcomings of the hotel in favor of the guests AND the staff, which is truly exceptional. My stay was made very comfortable and pleasant due to his and his staff’s continued attention. Faye is the hotel’s most valuable asset and is an ideal face for the hotel. I didn’t see much of the GM or his deputy.
I would be amiss and unobjective if I didn’t point out the flaws as perceived by me. The rooms are a bit tired, particularly the ventilation system. The bar is to be avoided at all costs, because of the management there and the staff that are amateurish, and rude to top it off. The night duty manager needs to be retrained as I saw homeless people wandering around the hotel lobby on his watch, along with a smell of marijuana that enveloped the entrance and the lobby.
Vi got a fantastisk breakfast , our server Alem , made us a fantastic surprise , i can recomend This to everybody 💪. Next time i come to This city i know where to stay . We ended up here with a coinsident . But where wey happy with our stay
The PROS: This hotel had a great location. Great breakfast buffet. Great bar and lounge area. The EXTRAORDINARY service from Cristela at the front desk, Cynthia at the concierge, Fethi the from the room bellhop team, and Remi from the Mezzanine Restaurant.... made our stay GREAT and worth it!
The CONS: Rooms are outdated. Andrew(works the night shift) at the front desk at the WORST customer service ever. He made my husband wait 20 minutes at the front desk at 1am in the morning after my husband had to go to the emergency room for six hours...because he thought my husband was not a guest and he needed our new room key. Not to go into a long rant ....I believe Andrew is just not a great fit for a hotel facing associate. Let’s just say he has the potential of ruining many great experiences for guest that stay at this hotel.
Thannnnk goodness for the above staff members for making the experience great!
I recently spent a week in DC and insisted on having breakfast in the hotel restaurant for breakfast every morning because it was perfect. Alem was my server every morning and simply made the start of my day enjoyable with her smile and excellent service. I will be returning soon and will definitely stay here again.
