How to Get There
We were in D.C. to sightsee on April 19th of this year and stayed at the Westin Washington. We do a lot of traveling and this was the first Westin we have ever stayed at, and it won’t be our last. The hotel was located in walking distance of the White House and other Historic buildings, that was amazing. It was a beautiful hotel, but the rooms were basic. Of course, if you travel a lot and love having upgraded rooms, it will cost you, but if you are in town and don’t plan on just hanging out at the hotel, then this is the place for you. The front desk staff was just amazing, friendly and informative. They was plenty of parking garages around the hotel, but check before parking because not all have in and out privileges and some close at certain times. We will be back to this fantastic city and hotel.
I enjoyed my stay here. This location is surrounded by tons of restaurants, shopping, and sites, all within walking distance. The service was terrific; I was promptly served by the staff at the front desk, and each person who helped me was friendly. In particular, Abdul provided great service at breakfast each morning, ensuring I had enough coffee and even offering to put it in a to-go cup for me. The breakfast buffet offered lots of options, including healthier choices not typically available. In addition to the service, the hotel was clean. My only complaints were that the walls were a bit thin, as I could hear my neighbor's TV and music playing at various times throughout my stay, and I didn't find the pillows to be very comfortable.
I had a nice stay here, although it was unseasonably hot and humid in DC for May and it felt like my room could just get cool enough or I couldn't get the humidity out (it was same all over DC, by the way).
Breakfast staff in the morning is great. Abdul helped me every morning and he was super friendly and always made sure I had a full cup of coffee.
Rooms were nice and quiet. Gym is large and has just about everything you need. There is also an OrangeTheory Fitness really close by. I wish they could have brought over a Peloton from the Georgetown location, but alas, I made due.
Front desk staff was great. Restaurant was so busy when I arrived on Saturday afternoon and only one person working. And she was working her tush off. I felt so bad for her...not sure why they would have such light staff on a Saturday when a convention is starting and the hotel is so busy. Her manager had to help as well. I don't know her name but she was super sweet and attentive in the chaos.
So enjoyed our stay but an exceptional employee Carlos
Stood out. He works at front desk and was always happy helping me and others he seemed to be all over working always with a smile. Be sure to say hello he will be a highlight to your trip
Now, I have been to a lot of amazing breakfast areas at various hotels around the world. In all of those experiences, these specific staff members gave me hospitality that warmed my heart every morning; Alem, Louis, Embet, and Miguel. From the omelettes to the preparation to the cleanliness to the flexibility, I truly appreciate these wonderful loving and caring people for giving me such a wonderful morning every time I was there. Please thank them for me, for I wish I could do it one more time.
