Business trip

I knew they had major construction going on, so expect jackhammers/noise from 8-6. They could have offered coffee around the clock,as they had the setup. Room was clean,not spotless. Bagels in the morning was nice touch. Could have used the coffee available earlier than 630am for us early risers.

Worse for ware.

When I booked this hotel I was unaware the building was being updated and looking at it I’m surprised it has lasted as long as it has.
I had a bad experience with my connecting flight and called to say that I’d probably arrive after midnight, I asked for a note to file and was told as I booked through a 3rd party (Expedia) they couldn’t do this.
I told the employee is there any chance you can do things the old fashioned way and write it down. I was bluntly refused.
When I finally arrived I got out of the cab and was filled with dread.
The building looked like a dump.
As I walked to the reception desk my feeling didn’t change.
I however encounter a nice young lady at the desk who was fantastic.
She explained about the work being done and as it was from 08:30-17:30 it would not bother me as I was out.
Problem was that the next day they start work on the floor above me and at least an hour early!!
This continued through my trip but wasn’t a big deal.
The fact all I had at my disposal was a room that looked like it was first decorated in the 50’s and nothing else was disappointing.
Want a Bagel on your way out $10!!
I’d expect them to be given out for free seeing as the restaurant that was promised when I booked was never open.
All that’s here are old rooms in an old building. I’d avoid at all costs if I were to return.

Avoid this hotel if you want a bit of peace

We have just come back after having a weeks stay at the wink ☹️. Our first complaint was that we were NOT told by anyone that this hotel was under construction, we only knew about it when we arrived , it was a shock ! The hotel staff were friendly enough but a bit fed up with the constant noise from construction noise and the daily mess . The work started from 8 ish till mid/late afternoon EVERY day , yes this included Saturday and Sunday . No manager available for us to vent our anger too either.
THE ROOMS: where do we start . Unless you are deaf you could sleep well. The air con is the most noisiest we have ever heard. We had the maintenance guy up twice to sort it out but there seemed to be a problem with it even though it’s only 3mths old. We ended up moving rooms as the noise was unbearable, like a aeroplane engine in the distance. The other room was the same with the noise from motor of air con but couldn’t be bothered to tell them again as we only had 2 more nights to go . The rooms don’t have the basic tea and coffee facilities in the rooms unless you ask for a kettle etc from front desk . You also have to ask for cups to make the drinks , you get paper ones not even crockery... the new rooms are ok, certainly not 4* as they say they are . The bathrooms did not have any toilet roll holder so it sits on the side of the sink . No where to put the soap when you’ve opened it as there’s no room by the sink . Very little room in the bedroom itself. One case we were stepping over the whole time as only enough room for one case to sit on table . Lighting also very poor , only side lamps no main central light . We had a record player randomly sitting on the table , to us it was taking up valuable space and getting in the way . Didn’t see the point of the at all. The fridge was room temperature, not cold at all. We were told it is how it’s meant to be .????
Dirty sticky floor in the room it self when we first arrived and was still there when we left .
In the new room we had no carpet , just a rug and the floor was concrete . Not yet finished we presume as it certainly wasn’t polished ! Also safe in the room was not bolted or secured in the draw as it should have been , it was just in there !
Overall we would NOT have chosen this hotel IF we knew of the construction, we should have been informed by the hotel themselves or Expedia . This hotel should only be a 3* ...
Must say the bed was very comfortable in both rooms.
