A room or suite on a working farm in Kentucky’s bluegrass region, including a waived resort fee
There’s a host of happy faces waiting to greet you in the town of Danville, in central Kentucky’s bluegrass region. They’re not the typical faces you see at a hotel – most of them have bigger ears; some even have beaks or snouts. Regardless, the faces are all soft and fuzzy, because they belong to a friendly crew of farm animals that ranges from rabbits to sheep to puppies and piglets. These animals are here to provide milk and eggs for the property, because in addition to being a lovely lodging, this Southern estate is a working farm.
Here to help you navigate the property are other friendly (human) faces, who can get you all set on your new pastoral pastimes. If you’ve never milked a goat, now’s your chance – if you have, you might want to try collecting chicken eggs or grooming a mini horse. Meanwhile, you can enjoy two of the other property highlights all on your own. To see a glorious sunset, just step outside around dusk. And to see the other stars of the farm that aren’t the animals, stay outside afterward, and look up to the hundreds of visible constellations.
Rooms and suites
The Farm’s nine rooms are decorated individually, each with a sense of classic Southern graciousness, through details like vintage lamps and floral textiles. Farm Specialty suites are more spacious than the Farm Standard rooms and feature lovely additions, like a reading area or gorgeous farmland view.
The property’s abundant farmland allows for relaxing strolls and gives you many places to clear your head. Fishing, gardening and stargazing are all possible, as are happy play dates with your new, furry friends. Should you decide to explore the area, visits to local restaurants, shopping and historic sites throughout the Bluegrass region, as well as Bourbon tours, are also easy to set up, and the Great American Dollhouse Museum isn’t too far. If you crave something a bit faster-paced, the cities of Lexington and Louisville are 40 and 80 minutes away, respectively.
