Affordable escape at the southern tip of Santorini with an outdoor pool overlooking the Aegean

The Lowdown

At the southern tip of Santorini, Sea Sound – White Katikies is an affordable apart-hotel in a quiet spot overlooking the Aegean Sea. In keeping with the island’s aesthetic, the retreat features white and cream tones inside and out. The 29 apartment-style units offer a home-away-from-home feel, with spacious living areas, kitchenettes, AC and tea- and coffeemaking facilities. Each features a spacious terrace with sea views. The poolside bar serves cocktails and snacks made from local produce — some as local as the hotel’s own farm. Boat trips and horseback riding can be arranged by the hotel.

In the Area

From the Sea Sounds’s peaceful location, it’s a short drive to the seaside resort of Agios Georgios and the black beach of Perivolos. Perissa, with its own black sand volcanic beach and bustling restaurant and café scene, is less than 10 minutes away, also on the eastern shore of the island. Drive to the west side to buzzing Fira and picturesque Oia, with its whitewashed houses and dome roofs perched on cliffs overlooking the Aegean.

Paid $303.00 per day for “luxury”. No—it is a two star hotel.Quiet? Well it IS in the middle of no where with a useless beach, the shotguns being fired at 6 am by local hunters will jolt you out of bed however, if the roosters dont wake you at 3:30 am.
Booked the “executive” suite. Has a huge, musty smelling Greek only library,,,also seless,,,
But no comfortable place to sit, hard back chairs only. No electrical outlet in the poorly lit bath (complained and was surprised to find one was added) TV is the size of a coffee table book, Greek only, useless. Would RUN NOT WALK AWAY from this place.
Wewere there Sept 5-19.....worst part of our honeymoon trip....

An oasis away from it all!

It’s a great place to stay unless you seek the bright lights and bars. We stayed in an apartment and it was light, cool, clean and well equipped. The housekeeping was brilliant with new sheets and towels each day. The pool was clean and so very warm. The food in the cafe was fresh and plentiful. Beer was London prices but that’s Santorini for you.

Spacious and Secluded

Beautiful beach front property, secluded from civilization. Felt like we were in the middle of nowhere, which was great after 6 days on the go. But unless you were willing to pay for cab ( public transportation not an option for our group, but not sure there was a stop nearby anyhow) you are stuck with the hotel bar and small restaurant at the bar patio, which was actually quite good. Staff was very attentive (maybe a bit too attentive), but that’s better than the alternative! Breakfast was also served at the patio bar, and it was just fine. Could have used more fruit, but yogurt breads, cheese, and cakes were delicious. They also served eggs and various meats.

We had a room as well as a 3 bedroom apartment. Both were fabulous except shower head was broken in both! We didn’t say anything, but I’m sure they would have fixed it. Clean, spacious, beautiful views, and very well appointed with kitchen items, fridge, kettle, etc. Back patio had a line to dry clothes.

Will definitely stay here again to wind down at the end of a long hard Grecian holiday.

The most relaxing hotel ever! It is my third year and I can't wait to come back again. Nice breakfast for 7.00 euros, an amazing pool with a breathtaking view and the room is very comfortable, clean and has an amazing air condicioner - and I just love the new room private pool - it has an amazing view and you can really hear the sea sound from your bed. The team is very kind and friendly and the Restaurant has excellent food for a good price. This hotel has a good soul, as soon as you arrive you begging to relax and enjoy your vacations! The hotel is very near if the best beach clubs in Santorini - you can go walking by foot. If you are looking for a place to disconnect and really relax - this is it! I can't wait to come back! Thank Anie and the amazing team for all support and kindness! You are the best!

I keep coming back here....it's been 3 years now....this Hotel is just an amazing find!
It's location is perfect....a short walk on the beach to the best beach clubs and best beach in Santorini...away from the bustle of all the tourist and tourist traps that go with Thira and Oia, amazing value...peaceful, great staff, and super friendly atmosphere not just with staff but because of the size of the hotel, with the rest of the guests. There's the exchange of information, tips, where to eat, etc.
Anyway, regarding the Hotel itself, this year stayed at a private pool "bungalow" and it was really worth it. I'm not saying that I'm not staying in the other houses/rooms again because really each one has it's own character, but the private pool, just in front of the waterfront was just surreal. At night, it's just magical.
There was an eclipse during the time we were there and we just had an amazing experience just sitting by ourselves, literally no one else on the beach, watching it and just looking up at the stars and the ocean.
I couldn't give a higher recommendation to this Hotel and I encourage anyone to visit.
Congratulations to all the staff for the experience.
Thanks and see you soon I hope,
