Overview

Affordable escape at the southern tip of Santorini with an outdoor pool overlooking the Aegean

The Lowdown

At the southern tip of Santorini, Sea Sound – White Katikies is an affordable apart-hotel in a quiet spot overlooking the Aegean Sea. In keeping with the island’s aesthetic, the retreat features white and cream tones inside and out. The 29 apartment-style units offer a home-away-from-home feel, with spacious living areas, kitchenettes, AC and tea- and coffeemaking facilities. Each features a spacious terrace with sea views. The poolside bar serves cocktails and snacks made from local produce — some as local as the hotel’s own farm. Boat trips and horseback riding can be arranged by the hotel.

In the Area

From the Sea Sounds’s peaceful location, it’s a short drive to the seaside resort of Agios Georgios and the black beach of Perivolos. Perissa, with its own black sand volcanic beach and bustling restaurant and café scene, is less than 10 minutes away, also on the eastern shore of the island. Drive to the west side to buzzing Fira and picturesque Oia, with its whitewashed houses and dome roofs perched on cliffs overlooking the Aegean.

Wonderful honeymoon relaxing retreat

We are so glad we chose Sea Sound as our honeymoon destination. Everything about our stay was perfect. Upon our arrival we were greeted by the lovely Joanna who showed us to our room which had been upgraded with a lovely private pool and sea view which got our holiday off to an even better start!

The rooms are immaculately clean and very comfortable, the pool and room were cleaned on a daily basis by such lovely & friendly staff. There is a free transfer service to the local supermarket so you get all your supplies in for your stay when you need to.

One of the lovely things about Sea sound is that you can hear the Sea constantly, such a calming feeling whilst you are relaxing on one of the many seating areas or on the private beach with it’s own beds. The grounds were stunning and immaculately kept.

There is a pool bar where you can enjoy lovely food and drinks, this is where we met George who was so helpful in offering advice on local restaurants in the area, always with a smile!

The owners introduced themselves to us during our stay and were wonderful, friendly and welcoming people who have clearly but a lot of thought into the hotel.

We can’t wait to return to Sea Sound again in the future ????

Quiet and beautiful location

Extremely good service. Nice room and good bed. With air conditioning on it was lovely that there were duvets there and not just sheets.
Pool area delicious. Beach area very nice.
One could actually hear the Wave Sound (Sea Sound) all the way to the room. This was a balm for the soul.
A pool bar with absolutely delicious food (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Even the scrambled egg had a wow effect. George and the others at the bar were always keen to do the best for you.
Super sweet Johanna at the front desk came with great tips on places to see, restaurants to eat at ++.
Sea Sound feels like a luxury place, but is located some distance from the typical touristy Santorini. Therefore, you may want to rent a few days to look around. Car hire was provided on site at no extra cost. We paid 35 € a day.
Transportation from and to the airport cost € 35 per way.

I highly recommend Sea Sound!

Santorini At Its Best

My wife and I, along with five of our kids, spent three wonderful nights on Santorini in June 2019 during an extended European vacation. We chose Sea Sound because it was "retreat like" - removed from the hustle and bustle of big cities or towns, and a place where we could just relax and enjoy ourselves. Mission accomplished.

Our apartment fit us perfectly, and was extremely clean and comfortable. The staff was incredibly welcoming and kind, and bent over backwards to make our stay as wonderful as possible. The breakfasts by the pool were stellar, as were the dinners. If people choose to see the sights of the lsland, they are simply a small walk to the closest bus stop away.

We had a wonderful time.
