How to Get There
Little late to post, we visited here April 2018 my partner was pregnant at the time with our little boy and we had the most amazing week. The staff could not have done anymore to make this an unforgettable trip apologies can’t remember everyone’s names but thanks to you all, the rooms were spacious and clean, spa facilities great and fantastic cusine for breakfast. 10/10.
Not only was the stay at this hotel incredible with the views, the breakfast, and the infinity pools but we all received complimentary 15 minute massages. 15 minutes doesn’t sound like a long time but my masseuse Efi made it feel like at least a half hour and I had some relaxing tea included. Overall, such an amazing experience. They’re doing everything right at both the hotel and spa, I couldn’t ask them to improve a thing!
Our stay at Santo Maris was perfect. We arrived mid-afternoon from the high-speed ferry and wanted a relaxing evening. We decided to dine outdoors at the onsite restaurant, Alios Ilios. We selected the 7-course traditional greek dinner with wine pairings. The service (server Sophie and sommelier) was impeccable. In our experience, the food was better than the local restaurants we tried. Our sea-view room was a great place where we watched the sunset each night away from the crowds in the busy streets of Oia. We were able to open the windows/french doors to allow the breeze to come in. The staff was great about restocking the bottled water and coffee in our room twice daily. The daily breakfast has something for everyone, including greek pastries that varied each day and champagne available free of charge. The location of the resort is nice for those looking for a truly relaxing getaway but is not too far from the bustling streets of Oia. One morning, we took a taxi to Fira and did the 7.5 mile hike along the caldera back to Oia, followed by a relaxing afternoon in our jacuzzi. After dinner that evening, we returned to the resort bar where they had live entertainment (pianist/sax). The next day, we enjoyed wandering the streets of Oia and traveling down to dinner at Ammoudi Bay. The service, cleanliness, and amenities at Santo Maris, paired with the location (and benefits thereof) were beyond my expectations....in part, because of a few negative reviews on here :) Truly, I'm not sure how anyone could write a poor review of Santo Maris Oia. If we were to return, we would stay in this resort and away from the crowded streets of Oia. Thank you to the staff for making our stay so enjoyable!
This was a truly lovely property a five- min walk away from the crowded streets of Oia! We loved it. The staff were super-friendly, the room was clean and large, and the pool was beautiful. The breakfast buffet was unreal. We were sad to leave and would definitely return.
Amazing views, extremely helpful staff, especially Manager, Ms. Antigoni Polychronaki, who assisted with a change of suite. Also, two wonderful ladies who gave us massages: Faye and Martha. All expensive, but worth the money. Excellent location for the magnificent sunsets (weather permitting) and central to hundreds of shops and restaurants. We're hoping to return in September. Abboudi Bay is also close by, where there are some wonderful fish restaurants and about 230 steps up from there will take you to the main town. Thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay in May prior to the start of the busy season.
