How to Get There
Notos was absolutely superb. The rooms are stunning and everything you expect from a hotel in Santorini with the white interior and curved roofs, added modern touches such as Netflix on the tv in your room are also a real win.
The 2 pools looking over the marina & onto the ocean really are as stunning as the pictures look and the hotel is immaculately clean, it almost took my breath away. So picture perfect. Comfortable sunbeds and fabulous cocktails to match.
Staff: Maria at the front desk is absolutely amazing with a fantastic sense of humour. Nothing is too much trouble - she helped us with absolutely everything and hired a car organising the whole thing. All the girls at the desk were bloody great. Miri who checked us in at 4am was also so kind and pleasant and happy to see us to our room and answer any questions. Unfortunately Yanis who works in the restaurant seemed to have a real issue with our party despite the fact we had done nothing wrong at any point. If we asked him tor a cocktail or a towel it seemed like a huge inconvenience and he practically scowled at us everytime we spoke - we basically just gave up asking him for anything. He’s a real embarrassment to the hotel and the faultless superb service that the rest of the team deliver.
One last tip - if you love seafood be sure to go to Psaraki above the hotel. The tuna steak melted in my mouth and in fact every dish for all 6 of our party was delicious!
Really disappointed with the hotel states it’s a 4* but I would say 2/3* at most looks good on the pictures but pictures are deceiving!
Checked in and one hour later asked to cancel my booking room was dirty sheets had hair and holes in them dead flies on the floor dirty towels,
Was refused a refund the manger said because we booked through Expedia they had to approve the refund so called them and they told us to hold while they called hotel turns out the manger was lying and he was refusing a refund ( Expedia did give us a voucher to amend for the managers lies ) which didn’t surprise us for the amount we paid for such a poor hotel he must be the company’s number one con artist so had to stick it out service from the staff was poor they were more interested in playing on there phones and smoking cigarettes than helping guests,
In 7 days we were offered a drink by the pool once and that was the first morning at which point after the drinks were delivered to the pool the manager had a word with the member of staff and we were never asked again,
Had a spa treatment to try and cheer up the week ended up with my wife crying and walking out the spa.
Walked up the stair cases and the lights had covers missing and wires hanging out random holes in the walls and just generally a disappointment,
Air con in the room was poor quality if you had it on you couldn’t sleep because of the noise the fan makes and the banging of boats in the fishing harbour nearby,
Really poor location nothing to do at hotel and only a fish restaurant nearby,
Would recommend AVOIDING this hotel and paying extra to stay in Fira or Oia as there nicer and more things to do,
If we didn’t have a car hires we would have come home but luckily we were able to travel to nicer parts of the island,
Again I recommend AVOIDING THIS HOTEL
On arrival we thought we had made a mistake as we were off the beaten track... how wrong were we!
This restful hotel was a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of the rest of Santorini.
Yet we still had a lovely view of the port... the starting point of the catamaran cruises. This meant we could people watch from the Terrace of the restaurant or the pool but enjoy the peace also.
The restaurant offered a varied menu and the food was expertly cooked and delicious.. and value for money. On the cliffs behind the hotel ( 5 min walk) you’ll find the best fish restaurant on the island.
Our room was upgraded and was simply lovely ... offering us our own pool.
The reception staff can’t do enough for you and big thanks to them.
The spa... well simply glorious. We had some inclusive treatments but were so impressed we booked more. The spa manager is very helpful and a real credit to the hotel.
So if you want a lovely base to explore Santorini but also enjoy some respite and genuine Greek hospitality with a touch of spoiling. I can recommend Notos Therme.
