How to Get There
Everything written by previous hotel guests are true. The room is cozy and clean. The host Panos and the housekeeper were great. Panos was friendly and very helpful and the cleaner was efficient.
The guesthouse is really close to Imerovigli town (600m). If you want to travel round the island you definitely need to rent some kind of transportation.
This guesthouse has 6 rooms. Our rooms faced the main road and it can be quite noisy especially if there is a motorcycle revving up the slope. We found the aircond helped to reduce the noise. After midnight it becomes quieter. But for those who isn’t concern about this I think Meli Meli is a great choice.
There isn’t a bar or restaurant on-site. However, there are restaurants which is a short stroll away. Safer to walk during the daytime. It’s quite dark at night to walk and drivers here tend to drive pretty fast. Breakfast was included.
Overall, we had a very pleasant stay here.
This was our first island stop after flying into Athens and spending a few days. We were greeted by Panos and shown to our rooms. Very comfortable accommodations, very quiet hotel. Out of the hustle and bustle of Oia, it was perfectly located for us. The pool was a welcome oasis after a walk about. There was a trail behind the hotel that lead to a stone walking path that lead to many eating and shopping spots. Probably our favorite hotel during our tour of some of the Greek Islands with my family. What I really wanted everyone to know about was what an absolute jewel Panos was to us. So accommodating, professional and in tune with his customers- he was the perfect host! Thank you Panos and all the staff for a fantastic stay.
Myself and my teenage boys had a four night stay at Meli Meli recently and I was very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is quite well located for the things we wanted to see whilst we were on the island which was the old port and Oia. The old port is within walking distance (although this took us over an hours stroll, but we did stop for photos and a drink etc). There’s a good bus link just down the road for Oia. Restaurants are a bit of a walk but if you’re fit and healthy, again they are well within reach. And the view from the path (don’t walk along the road and miss it!) is absolutely beautiful, whatever that time of day or night. You will need a torch for the journey back from the town though as it’s pitch black in places. There’s also a Greek taverna just down the road from the hotel that looks a little bleak from the outside, but it is well worth a visit as the food is freshly cooked and delicious, even if the menu is a little limited
So .... back to the hotel....Meli Meli has a boutique feel and is absolutely spotlessly clean. The decor of our room was beautiful. It was perfectly equipped with all the little touches that you would expect. We had a lovely balcony right over the hotel reception. The pool area is beautiful, with fresh towels left out daily for guests to use. Breakfast is worth ordering although on the second day we only ordered for two people as we found it was too much food for three
Panos (hotel manager??) is super helpful with any requests and seems to be available at all hours
All in all, I would recommend this hotel for adults or couples
