How to Get There
The Cosmopolitan Suites is a luxury boutique hotel sitting on the cliffs of Fira, Santorini. I award Room #1 a rating of 4 out of 5, and it is my recommendation as the room with the best value. The room/suite has a master king with acceptable comfort, a living room with an excellent daybed, a marvelously designed lanai on the side and a small patio that is an entertainment centerpiece. Over all I loved the room except for the shower and toilet area which was dysfunctional and way below expectations.
The advantages of the hotel are;
(1)Hotel staff excellent 5+. The staff was courteous and helpful.
(2)View 6+, you will not find a better sunset view in area which is elevated by a FULL size luxury infinity pool. Many hotels highlight a pool, while some are the size of a hot tub. Cosmopolitan Suites excels in the pool area.
(3)Location 5, the hotel is perfectly located in the midst of the typical Fira chaos while maintaining a serene composure; in the mix of the hot spots making all the main restaurants and sites within a short stroll.
(4)The hotel has a small restaurant, which is necessary, however I rate it a 3 out of 5. The food is average and should be ordered only if you are in a pinch. I believe there is a great area for improvement in this area.
(5)Hotel breakfast is cooked to order and delivered to the room. I would rate this short at a 4 because a 5 would pull out all the stops with decorative adornments and premium brands.
(6)Drinks were an acceptable 3, however another area for improvement. I will say the Kir Royale was divine. The views from the deck make the drinking experience soar beyond a 5...location location location!
(7)Cleanliness rating 5. The hotel is spotless...however a helpful suggestion is to avoid the grandmother effect which means don't pontificate about my mess by quickly cleaning up right after it takes place.
Suggestions for Improvement;
(1)Bathroom arrangement, the shower was a closet with a glass door, no place to put soap or shampoo no shelves and only one hook for a towel. The shower door was not frosted (no privacy) so whoever showered could be seen all the way through to the patio window outside if the master suite door was left open. The towels were awkwardly located in the toilet next door making it necessary to exit the shower, make a brief birthday suit sprint next door to the toilet for a towel making the phrasing a full moon out tonight a reality. The bath sink oddly extends outward which does not allow one to use for a makeup mirror. The attached make up mirror to the side of the wall is not lighted making the ladies frustrated.
(2)The bath robes although large size were evidently a European size and do not fit 6ft Americans aka 1/3 of the American population...equaling big man or woman in a tiny bathrobe. We asked for XL ones but were stuck with the tiny ones marked large. . All of this could easily be adjusted for room #1. (Note: other rooms had full size hot tubs inside so the bathroom may not be an issue in those)
(3) The living room window opens to the patio table and beautiful view. However the patio table is unfortunately not the one for room#1...This forces our neighbor from next door blocking the view if they are using the patio. This only happened at breakfast but could vary depending on who is using this table.
(4)I noted several Asian couples who only stayed one night here and appeared to be using it as a Instagram platform and rightfully so, however the one-nighters take away from the serenity of the location. One draw back for photos is a small electrical wire that interferes with a perfect view. However if you are careful you can minimize this by shooting at a low angle.
(5) A hotel of this caliber should have complementary afternoon welcome back drinks, limeade and Greek cookies/sweets, dates, etc on a side table as one reenters the hotel between 3 to 5PM.
(6) Airport pickup and return should be included in the price. This should be a no brainer. The hotel needs a car and driver full time.
Overall I give this hotel a 4 out of 5 because of the incredible views, infinity pools and location. I would stay here again and would recommend this hotel to others for the views, location, pool and photo opportunities. You can find hotels with rooms as good as or better breakfast, pool and similar location. But you have to look hard to find these views with a FULL size infinity pool in the heart of one of the most beautiful places in the world. If you plan to use the hotel and relax, then it is worth the price. If you just need a hotel to sleep in try one on the east side down the hill slightly might be your best bet.
Note: I rarely give a five rating to a hotel or service. In today ratings systems it seems every Air BB and every service rates a 5. How can that be? While statically 60% of all ratings should get a 3 or average. Travels do not want to hurt a business ratings by giving a realistic rating so they all put down a 5 along with the paid auto trolls. The first thing I do when looking at reviews is throwing out all the 5's and 1's and go straight to other reviews. There is where you will find the true information. My reviews are factual and the ratings fair to the business and statically centered.

Yes the hotel is pricey but well worth it. We was pampered the moment we step foot into the hotel to the moment we step out. Yes the hotel is small but it's part of Small Luxury Hotels. The complex is small but the service is so personalized - the staff are willing to do anything. Views from the hotel is simply breathtaking! The rooms are small but sufficient. Memi and Marios were sooooo lovely made our stay even better. Location is so perfect - bang in the middle of town surrounded by shops and beautiful alleys and views. You are even given a Greek cell phone so you can call the hotel anywhere anytime if you need anything arranging - how cool?! Even the service by the pool is so good! Drinks swiftly served with complimentary bottled of water and snacks.
Downside - the jacuzzi wasn't as warm as I expected it to be and wasn't as "bubbly" but still did the job. Housekeeping would miss out bits but if you call reception they would bring it instantly.
Overall it was worth every penny and definitely recommend!
My husband and I checked into the honeymoon suite for our first leg of our honeymoon. When we walked into the property we noticed right away the pool area was very small, but we were excited to see our room. Our room was beyond SMALL. We really tried to look past it, but as we looked around the room, we noticed a ton of stains on the couch, a dirty hottub, and when you go outside on the baclony we literally had someone from the pool sitting next to our balcony. When you expect a honeymoon suite, you expect some form of privacy. I knew off the bat, this hotel did not justify the price.
We tried to smile through this, but when we returned from dinner is when the nightmares started. Our room was COVERED in ants. ants where all over all parts of the room, on top of shoes and clothes that we had laid out and ants surronding our bed. We had to get someone from front desk to help clean up this mess. All they did was bring a dirty mop in to "clean up ants." My husband and I tried to make the best of this situation but we both couldnt sleep thinking ants were everywhere.
Once we attempted to sleep, a noise from the hot tub was so intense, we had to call someone from front desk to help us shut it off because you have to climb over the hottub and open up the plumbing in order to shut off. (we were also instructed that if we wanted to turn on, we would need to call someone tomorrow.) Once the hot tub noise went off, we heard a loud noise from the club next door. We knew the next morning we would have to check out as this was not suited for a honeymoon.
When we went to go explain our concerns and how we wanted to proceed with checking out and not paying for the remainder of the nights it was then we were treated with such unprofessionalism and threats. they told us we would not get out money back, that they have never had this issue and they didnt care if we left a review as they have great reviews and ours wont matter.
We eventually came to a conclusion that they wouldn't charge us and we wouldn't leave a review, well we are still working with out credit card to get the money back that they in fact charged us, so this review is long overdue.
See attached for pictures of ants, stained couches and a dirty hottub.
