Overview

All-white boutique close to Agios Stefanos beach with an open-air spa and a restaurant overlooking Mykonos town

The Lowdown

On a hillside, a five-minute walk from Agios Stefanos beach, the Mykonian Mare is a sleek all-white boutique that offers jaw-dropping views of the Aegean Sea at every turn. The traditional Grecian architecture is offset by modern touches like chic pendant lighting and chunky wicker sun loungers. Fully revamped in 2014, the 38 guestrooms and suites are spacious and bathed in light, with sea-facing balconies and upscale Coco-Mat beds. Suites come with extras that include indoor or outdoor Jacuzzi tubs. In the evening, sip a glass of bubbly at the laid-back Sky Bar and dine on exquisite seafood at the property’s Mediterranean-style restaurant, Lakoya. Don’t leave without having an aromatherapy massage at the stunning alfresco spa.

In the Area

Ask at reception about excursions to mysterious Delos. Famous as the birthplace of the twin gods Apollo and Artemis, the island has been inhabited since the third millennium BC. Discover the Temple of Isis and the Avenue of Lions before finishing your tour at the Archaeological Museum, which is replete with ancient sculptures and brightly colored mosaics. In the evening hit the dance floor in Mykonos town, home to some of Europe’s hippest clubs and bars. Start with a sundowner in Little Venice, a charming district lined with medieval fisherman’s houses that are now chic bars, and finish up at Cavo Paradiso, an open-air club on a rocky bluff that boasts an oversize swimming pool, dance cabanas and big name DJs.

RUN !!!!
Reviewed 6 days ago

absolutely not a 5 stars hotel ! we had the skyfall view with hammam and jacuzzi and everything went wrong from the beginning ! we found holes and works not done in the room, we tried the hammam but the electricity went down. somebody came to fixe it but he did nothing exept leaving a big hole on the wall ! It never worked for the whole stay...
The inside of the room was really not clean (hairs, dust ...) An orchid was here to decorate the room but it was dead ...One of our window was filled with tissues because the frame of this window was old and broken ! so it was impossible to open this window during the stay ! so no sunset view as promised ...
The pool !!!! oh my god ! the towel were stained (because of the javel water as someone told us so it's normal...), the mattresses were dirty, the pool was dirty (couldn't see the bottom and mold around it
stains found on our sheets, the other outside balcony was never cleaned, we had long hairs everywhere during our stay (and we are 2 guys without long hairs !)
we also had a water leak under the sink, and last but not least we didn't get hot water for the last 2 days !!!! only cold but very cold so they shut down everything and when the water came back, it was brown and very smelly !!!!!! so we couldn't use anymore the jacuzzi ....so after 2 days we left for the airoport without taking any shower !
And the breakfast !!! nobody to take care of you, no more glasses or plates and no one is taking care of the refill, some cups are broken so all the water of your tea is leaking on your table ...
everyday we complained (and we were not the only one) and nicely we had a bottle of wine and some cheese ....
We ask to change room but it wasn't possible and we ask for a refund but impossible as the PR as to deal with a greek manager based in Athens and the offer was ridiculous.
As we came back to Paris, I had to deal with my work council to get a refund of almost half the stay
This stay of 1600 euros for a week was a shame !!!!!
All the staff tried to help but they felt so embarassed and are not able to do anything....
I hate to leave bad coments but I had to for this one !!!! It was not our first time in the island and we know others hotels and this one has to be avoided !!!!
And if you want the private pool, don't do it ! we were just above one and you have no view, your private sun beds were dirty and with the wind they were inside the pool and nobody came to replace them or clean them ....
At least we asked for the free transfers (so expensive !) and they agreed

Very Pretty Hotel with Stunning Views
Reviewed 1 week ago

Lovely hotel with lovely rooms, beds were comfy and nice bathroom. was a bit more for couples and romance.
I was disappointed with the breakfast, not much variety and was always cold because no hot plates to keep food warm. A little dated not having this as standard in hotel. You could not help yourself to tea or coffee, had to order it from kitchen which took forever by which time you had ate breakfast already. Think this lets the hotel down to be honest and probably would stop me booking and staying again in the future. overall we had a great time as was a girlie holiday and took advantage of hot tubs in the rooms. there was also a fabulous Spa which gave complementary 15minute treatment. I had the works and it was worth it!

Too far out
Reviewed 1 week ago

Service good. Staff friendly. Breakfast sparse. Not much choice Service very poor in the beakfast area. We had Superior room. What a disappointment. We were next to the laundry in a very dark corner. Bathroom dirty. Toilet brush had seen better days. Even after asking for it to be cleaned . Thank god we did not spend much time in there. This hotel is not for anyone with walking problems . There are steps everywhere with no hand rails.
This hotel is too far out. The first shuttle goes at 12.00pm so it’s a taxi into the town . Walking to the nearest beach is dangerous. Its downhill very steep. Had it not been for good company and the hiring of a small jeep it may have been tears all round.

Rude Staff !
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Was looking forward to staying here. But was highly disappointed. We had booked a Prestige Suite with Pool access but was given the suite on the 1st floor with no access. When asked why they said the description given online is wrong.

The receptionist constantly had only one reply to whatever we asked her
" UNFORTUNATELY NO ". When we asked to speak to the manager, she always said that the manager is not available at the property. After several attempts, we gave up and just wanted our stay to get over.

There was one specific receptionist who was particularly rude and was not helpful at all. During checkout, while settling the total bill for my stay, I asked her for copies of Individual bills of food and beverages, she said since printer was not working, she cannot provide the copt and whatever the amount was shown, is correct and I have to pay that amount only.

We felt that she and some housekeeping staff had some weird bias towards us as they were quite polite to other guests staying there.

But, on the other hand, the servers of the hotel are very friendly, especially Anette. Kudos to her.

Hope, the hotel management reads my feedback and educates their staff to be more polite and courteous to their guests, just like Anette is.

Won't be recommending this property to anyone at all.
