Overview

A traditionally whitewashed, boutique hotel with rustic-chic interiors, a 20-minute walk from the beach

The Lowdown

Perhaps the most popular destination in the Greek isles, Mykonos is a sunny island paradise full of glitz and glam. Whether you come to lounge on the beaches, party hard at the clubs or rub shoulders with A-listers, you can be fairly certain that this island has what you’re looking for. Rolling hills, white beaches and cubist Cycladic architecture provide the stunning backdrop, while trendy beach bars, hip restaurants and boutique shopping are sure to keep you entertained.
In true Mykonos fashion, four-star Madoupa Boutique Hotel is totally dedicated to spoiling its guests. Flaunting their good looks following a head-to-toe refurb in 2015, all of the 25 rooms boast rustic-chic décor, featuring hardwood flooring, soothing neutrals, cool pendant lighting, and plenty of gleaming whites. While life at this chilled-out, whitewashed hotel is mostly about lounging by the outdoor pool with a cool drink in hand, there’s plenty to do should you tire of sunbathing. Within a 20-minute stroll is the beach, and Mykonos Town is just a 10-minute drive away, offering plenty of boutiques, museums and the 16th-century windmills for which is the island is famous.

What a lovely surprise!

I booked a last minute trip to Mykonos and stayed at Three Shades for a few nights. The entire staff, especially Stefanos were amazing and extremely helpful in making reservations, securing a rental car, and answering any questions I had. The rooms were spacious, clean, and tastefully designed. The entire staff treated me like family and I highly recommend anyone planning a trip to Mykonos to stay here! I plan on returning next summer.

We stayed 3 nights in Mykonos and loved our stay at Three Shades. Very friendly staff and an excellent chef. The room was very clean and quiet despite the short distance to Mykonos Town. We can fully recommend this hotel.

Great Stay & Recommended

Great stay at 3 shades. It’s well located just a few minutes walk into town (but a good distance from the hustle & bustle) and right across the road from the public bus stop.

All of the staff at 3 shades are very accommodating, polite and helpful. Katerina at reception was especially kind and supportive of our every need.

The owner is also an outgoing and knowledgeable woman and complements her staff accordingly.
We enjoyed an intelligent and frank discussion with her upon check out.

The hotel has been refurbished, bedrooms and public areas are comfortable, clean, air conditioned and aesthetically appealing.

Mykonos itself could certainly do with a good clean up, a number of public places especially road sides areas appear neglected, rubbish strewn and in general in need of some attention and TLC.

In summary a good break in a well appointed hotel located in one of Europe’s best hot spots.
