Overview

Business-friendly sleep next to the city’s largest shopping mall, with an indoor lap pool, splurge-worthy spa and its own casino

The Lowdown

Set in the heart of Argentina’s wine country, this contemporary sleep caters to business travelers (the hotel’s meeting center is one of the country’s largest) but with vacation-friendly amenities, too. The 180 modern guest rooms and suites overlook the city or the mountains and feature standard mod cons like flat screen TVs, work desks and mini bars. A spa with an indoor lap pool and state-of-the-art gym make it easy to stay active during the day, while the onsite casino offers entertainment in the evening. When hunger strikes, upscale Olivas Restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine as well as topnotch Argentinian meat. Or, take advantage of 24/7 room service for a meal delivered to your door.

In the Area

Get an overview of Argentina’s famous wines at the tasting room at Vines of Mendoza. Opt for a flight of Malbec and, if you like what you’ve tasted, you can even purchase a piece of land on the vineyard that will be overseen by their agronomist. Spend an afternoon exploring Parque General San Martin, the city’s largest park with 865 acres of scenic walkways, a zoo and the National Science Museum. Adventurers should also opt for a day of rafting in the Andes with Argentina Rafting—the company also offers horseback riding, zip lining and more.

Stay somewhere else.

I was at this hotel for 4 nights in June 2018. This hotel is way overdue for an upgrade. I had a suite on the top floor. The first room I was checked into had the following characteristics: a gross, stained duvet cover, sandpaper sheets, terrible pillows and a bed that was caving in the middle, a shower that had blue and black mold, and a toilet that smelled terrible, and the carpet was torn and fraying. When I was checked into a second "suite" it was somewhat better in terms of the bathroom, but the old carpet, poor sheets, stained duvet, and fraying carpet is a feature of this hotel that barely meets most American's expectations of a Holiday inn or other 3 star hotel.

Best if you are attending a business conference

My companion was attending a Cardiology Congress so I was tagging along. The hotel was pretty empty and quiet then the conference began and the buzz began. If you don't mind, you can still feel comfortable here and escape to the shopping mall/casino or walk along a very lovely trail closeby, winery visits can be easily arranged.
I usually like exploring a city so if I were on my own I would choose a hotel in the city. (Taxis available get to city center). Otherwise, this is a nice hotel.
The gym a little outdated, the pool/spa adequate and sauna a nice suprise. The breakfast is a typical European style buffet, not the American sweets everywhere style.....
Know your seasons! Late Fall turned to winter quickly.
Seeing the foothills covered in snow from the room, amazing!

Casino?

The hotel is in a convenient location - near the mall and has an adjoining casino. The hotel gets top rating for its convenient location, lovely lobby, spacious rooms and great customer service. We loved our room on the top floor that had pretty views and almost an adjoining sitting area. The concierge was extremely helpful in providing suggestions and setting up our wine tastings. We had a lovely mix of small boutique and large scale wineries.

Major pluses and then we went to casino restaurant for a late night dinner. Service was a bit lackadaisical and not even much eye contact. I got bounced around the wait staff and cashiers, before someone answered my questions or sat us down. Even though I asked, if credit cards were accepted before dining. They drumroll ... ended up charging my card for cash. If you decide to dine in their restaurant casino - just plan to use cash!!! I’ve been trying to get it cleared up with no avail. Lesson learned. Negative points for customer service at the restaurant and in my attempts to clear up the matter...

A very nice clean modern hotel. Large room and lovely bathroom. Cheap ride in taxi to city centre. Excellent breakfast. Large mall across the road . We stayed two nights and it was good value. Most of the staff we're very good but the bellboy was a bit of a smartass.
