Hadn’t stayed here for years but remembered it as being classy with local, friendly service.
I’m afraid that was then.
Now...
- service was curt, bordering on rude ( but maybe it’s a cultural thing as none of the staff were local)
- Beer was served in a dirty glass which was returned - and three glasses were tried before finding a clean one to serve me
- food in the bar was very average, curry was bland and tasteless
- atmosphere was soul-less and boring
- room was fine but dated and very little soundproofing to room next door via connecting door.
It’s as if the hotel I remember has lost its mojo.
Disappointing and ordinary

Untruthful, Lacking customer service and dated

Booked two rooms for a wedding. We had one last minute guest and called to ask if they could add a bed or could we have a room that sleeps three. We had called three times to ask this and every time we were told no that was not an option no rooms sleep 3. We reluctantly booked another room at £300. Upon checking in one of our rooms was a double bed and a single! The absolute desperation for a booking was an absolute scam and untruthful!

On top of this it is extremely dated and beds have very worn mattresses. The staff are mostly rude, the girl of reception was rude and unhelpful. Overall I think if the staff and so called management had actually any level of customer service we could have overlooked the room scam and the slight dusty old people home interior but for the level of hotel don’t bother.

As a wedding venue they don’t own a dress steamer which only cost 60 euros. The walls were also been repainted in a bright fluorescent yellow while we were there so navigating yellow wet paint in black tie was interesting.

I would recommend you save your money and get a local B and B. Or pay the money and actually get decent service and stay at adare Manor. Thankfully we spent most of the day at a wedding at Adare Manor which is absolutely fantastic with amazing service.

Great traditional hotel in the perfect small village setting

In you want to experience to go back in time in a gorgeous old hotel, the Dunraven Arms is it. Great service and fabulous decors, from the dinning room , your room to the multiple reading/lounging rooms for you to enjoy. The food of the restaurant and the pub have won countless awards for their quality. For the moment you check in you can feel that you will be treated differently here. The quality of the room is great , great bedding and linens.
