Couples night away
Reviewed 15 hours ago

Spent a Saturday night on the resort with my boyfriend. Although very busy the trojan staff took the time to greet us throughout the hotel and were very polite. The room was very spacious, crystal clean and very polished.

After a wonderful night sleep the breakfast options and experience as a whole were exquisite. The restaurant which is the breakfast room was so bright and refreshing to relax in .

A very romantic landscape surrounding the resort adds to the uniqueness of this paradise .

Just lovely

Popped in today to have a bit to eat as a family. Just a quick note to say our server Megan was an absolute pleasure. Attentive, friendly and just all round nice person. Just really made our day.
Thanks Megan

Effortless Perfection

I booked a spa package night away for my partners birthday and from the moment we checked in until the moment we left, we had nothing but a perfect weekend.
The staff at the front desk, the spa and Franchinis restaraunts deserve a special mention as they were all so welcoming and lovely to us.
The spa was beautiful and relaxing and our dinner at Franchinis was delicious and the service by Elizabeth was friendly and attentive.
The only negative thing we experienced was that we had cocktails in the Knights bar, and they took ages to come as the staff prioritised the wedding party guests above us and paused making our cocktails whenever someone else came to the bar.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay and hope to make this an annual trip.

Not a 5 Star Resort but Beautiful Grounds
Reviewed 2 days ago

I am disappointed that I have to rate this lovely place so low but if you market yourself as a 5 star resort with 5 star rates you set certain expectations. The grounds are stunning and the junior suite we stayed in had lovely views overlooking part of the golf course. The first strange thing was there’s a valet spot but no actual valet was out there to meet us. We waited and then eventually self parked. The sitting area in our room was spacious and there’s a nice walk in closet heading into the bathroom. Bedroom was a great size with a balcony with a great view. However, the light next to the bed wasn’t working, a light was out in the bathroom, a doorknob was broken, and the bath water on full hot was a little above tepid. I was SO looking forward to a hot bath but only stayed in 10 minutes as I was freezing! We hadn’t made reservations at the restaurant so we ordered room service for dinner. Our food was running late and when we rang no one would pick up. Once we received our food they had forgotten key items from the dish and sent the wrong bottle of wine. We ended up drinking the wine but did have them run up our missing items. This just isn’t the level of accommodation and service that warrants 5 stars unless I suppose there is a HUGE range. It is lovely but I would check out the other “castle” type resorts in Ireland.

Perfect except

This hotel is lovely. The grounds are stunning, the golf courses in beautiful. Breakfast is good and the Knights bar is a great place to sit down for a dram. For the most part I have a very positive experience at this resort. Sakshi at the front desk was so helpful and made our stay extra special. Thank you Sakshi. Why I am giving 4 stars not 5 is too many times at the clubhouse, at the garden bar and at the Italian restaurant was our order wrong or simply not ordered. Most of been 8 things wrong in the week we stayed with my groups orders. Bottle of white wine severed warm, steak sandwich sent blue rare (in a medium guy) sandwich’s came but not the ones ordered. And there never seemed to be any urgency with the service staff. Sometimes you would wait 10 min for a Guinness. I know it takes longer than a lager but not that long. Anyway still a great place and I would come back, but that needs to be addressed
