Classic Elegant living room property home Suite condominium Villa cottage flat leather

The Review

Behind a heritage-listed Italian facade, the Strozzi Palace occupies a dark stone building near a good pub and Cheltenham Art Gallery & Museum — a promising hint at the mix of entertainment on offer in this Gloucestershire city. I used my private code (sent when I made my reservation) for entry into both the small, stylish foyer and my suite, where the signature Italian motif is expressed in fabrics, furniture and modern fittings: black, steel-gray and white with metal and leather details.

With just six suites, the Strozzi Palace is boutique in size and also in concept, with an emphasis on home comforts. My Napoli Suite had a working kitchen, a separate living area and a small balcony, and although it was more stylish than spacious, there was ample room to prepare light meals and work on a computer, as well as stretch out to watch the wide-screen TV. The big coffee table design books added a homey touch.{“type”:”img-inline”,”src”:”/static/images/product/properties/1802/prop-16860-1317075304-full.jpg”,”width”:”275″,”caption”:”The aesthetic is modern, with furnishings in glass and metal and a cool monochrome palette.”}

With no public areas or restaurant, the Strozzi is best for independent travelers who like to get out and explore their surroundings. From the hotel it’s an easy stroll to the center of Cheltenham, a flat, eminently walkable city. Like Bath, Cheltenham Spa was once a gathering place for ladies and gentlemen of society, and the theaters, restaurants, parks and promenade still have the gracious air of places designed for pure enjoyment. Large cream-colored stone buildings, curved streets and manicured parks give the town a distinguished and elegant air.

The famous health-giving waters, which have been used for 250 years, are still available for tasting at the Pumphouse, which is a short drive or a good walk out of town. En route you’ll pass many examples of Regency houses and public buildings, and you should stop at one of the dozens of cozy teahouses.

Fantastic stay in Milano suite - looking forward to returning!
Reviewed 1 week ago

We stayed for six nights in the Milano suite which was perfect for us. The booking process is seamless, clear emails provide all the information needed and an email two days prior to arrival gives the building access code.
First impressions on entry are excellent - secure entry, smart and well maintained entrance and stairs. This continues on accessing the suite itself - spotlessly clean, well appointed and plenty of space with separate living area and bedroom.
The continental breakfast selection is varied and excellent quality and replenished daily, when the apartment is serviced
Extra touches such as daily Racing Post given that it was race week, and parking refund greatly appreciated - we used the NCP car park at the Brewery - about a five minute walk so no issue there and our refund was processed on the sane day as emailing the receipt and parking ticket - you cannot ask for more than that.
The suite is overlooking a road so there is some noise from traffic and a little at night if people passing by but not enough in our opinion to be a problem and it did not detract from the stay at all. This was race week so not surprising if there was a little extra noise in the area - it wasn't enough to worry us. There was no internal noise in the building or from other suites at all - very peaceful and relaxing.
Great location in the centre of town too
We were so pleased that we booked to stay at Strozzi and have already booked a return stay in the Milano again. The photos on the website meant we had high expectations and hopes for our stay - they were not only met but exceeded - it's even better than the photos!
Thank you to the team at Strozzi for such a great stay.

Good but some flaws!

We like the location of this place. Well furnished and generally good equipment. A couple of issues with The Amalfi Suite however. There was quite a lot of noise from the road. No cooker only a microwave so we had to remove our takeaway from the foil cartons and put them in some breakfast bowls to warm it up. Not enough crockery or suitable pans! Can’t open the windows to get air! Pillows on bed feel cheap. We always bring a pen drive so we can select something if there is nothing on tv. No matter what I tried I could not get either tv to play the pen drive/find the USB port.

Stayed here for two nights in December and it was great. We stayed in the Siena Suite and it was perfect. The decor was lovely and very chic and the huge bed was super comfy. Had a great selection of breakfast bits left each day and loads of teas, coffees and hot chocolates. Would defintely stay here again as it was a really lovely place throughout. Very clean and tidy and in a great location. Could not fault this place at all. Definitely worth the 5* rating I've given.

Smart, central, great continental breakfast and attention to detail.

i was attending a weekend conference at Parabola Arts centre, just a 10 minute walk away. My husband came along to sketch Cheltenham, and to be smuggled in for pizza at Princess Hall Cheltenham Ladies' College.
The Strozzi Palace is a real treat. Central, smart, clean, warm, spacious, comfortable. Lots of attention to detail eg milk and coffee, orange juice, cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, bread, etc provided for breakfast. Nice toiletries. Slight niggle about poor lighting at night on stairs which nearly led to a trip. But otherwise, definitely one to return to.

Lovely suite for a special birthday night away. The Palermo suite on the top floor was great with the sky view atrium, with electronic blind. Clean, well appointed and a fantastic continental breakfast provided. Parked in new NCP opposite The Brewery quarter.
