How to Get There
We decided to start our family vacation at the closest beach to the Liberia airport - Bosque Del Mar was the obvious choice just 25 minutes from LIR. I really appreciated the friendly welcome of the staff. They shortly learned all of our names and were always greeting us with a smile and asking whether they could help us with anything. I enjoyed that attention to detail. We stayed in for dinner and the hotel by far has the best food of anywhere on Playa Hermosa. The pool is as a highlight of our daughter’s stay. Beautiful trees all around - hence the name: Bosque Del Mar! Highly recommended!
This review is only for the bar/restaurant Niromi, Have never stayed at the hotel, but have toured the room (including the penthouse apartment) and very impressive.
On to the restaurant we have enjoyed dinner here a few times since it’s opening and we had fantastic service and an equally fantastic meal every time. Considerably more classy than you would typically expect from a place on the beach. The lounge on the second floor overlooking the beach (through the trees) we have visited more often and the cocktails and tapas are both fantastic.
These venues are open to the public and we have been lucky enough to enjoy them both during times of low crowds and always had a relaxing experience.
Food is OK in the restaurant and the staff is nice. BUT, Internet and hot water is not consistant, sometimes you have it, sometimes you don't. Not OK for how much they charge for a room. With heavy rains, water leaked in the rooms and got our clothes wet in the storage cabinets. Ocean front rooms have jacuzzi tubs, but no good without hot water!!! Pool is nice and has a hot tub, but no good without hot water and the surface water in the hot tub is dirty. I will do not recommend this place and will not stay here, again.
This is a fantastic hotel on the beach. Lovely pool and a few metres walk onto the beach. The restaurant is good and whilst all the staff are friendly and helpful a special mention to Carlos who made our stay. I would stay here again. Great find!
We were here for three nights in a junior suite and the rooms, service and food were all excellent. It's isolated from any urban area, so you need either a car or use the vans (Turismo) to get around (what we did). Beach and views are quite nice.We liked it better than Tamarindo because it's less crowded.
