Just returned from Costa Rica and we stayed at this hotel for 6 days. Where to begin!
The front desk staff was professional, friendly and extremely helpful. The room was awesome and right on the beach. Rooms are well kept, air conditioned, and comfortable with a great view. The area was safe. We went for a run/jog every morning and listened to the howler monkeys in the trees. First morning we heard the monkeys it scared the crap out of me but the front desk explained the monkeys. The sunsets from Hermosa are truly spectacular. The hotel also has a restaurant. We only ate breakfast at the restaurant but breakfast was wonderful. Lots of choices. There are a few restaurants within walking distance along the beach. The hotel is eco-friendly. There isn't a lot of transportation choices but we walked to several little convenient stores and even found shortcuts thru the woods. But we found a great taxi driver to take us to and from the airport. I kept his card for the next trip to Costa Rica (hopefully in the near future).

Great customer service
Great location

Paradise in the Trees

This was our first trip to Costa Rica, my husband and I spent 7 nights here and it was simply perfect! Roy picked us up in a very nice van at the airport and also returned us after our stay and he couldn't have been nicer. It was quiet (if you are looking for night life this is not the place) but was just what we were looking for. Our room was really nice however there are only 2 Oceanfront suites with a king bed so we had 2 queen beds in our room. Carlos our waiter was great! My husband caught a Snook off the beach and they cooked us fish sandwiches that day for lunch and grilled it up for dinner that night as well for a small fee. Our house keeper was wonderful, she made cute animals with the towels and kept our room very clean and neat. We had a small leak when we first arrived and they came out right away and fixed it. The staff at the front desk was super friendly and very helpful. We had a family of howler monkeys visit us right outside our room off our balcony. There was a peacock roaming around. The pool was nice, a little dirty with debris from the surrounding trees but we didn't mind. The chairs were not that comfortable though. We booked a zip lining trip through the hotel but found a local on the beach "James" who made our trip! He helped us with a horseback riding trip (my favorite tour of the week), took us to town for grocery's, ATM and a quick tour through back roads. At first we weren't too sure of him but we are so glad we trusted him! Definitely seek him out if you are there. His office is the stone table on the beach :) We went on a 5 hour trip with Albany (he lives next door behind Cici's) and my husband caught a 70lb Rooster fish, best day EVER! . We went to several of the restaurants on the beach and never experienced a bad meal. I highly recommend this place and would love to go back!

They treated us like family!

I am gonna start saying that all staff were super friendly and helpful the whole time we were there. Restaurant staff were so good and the drinks and meals were fantastic, housekeepers did a great job providing us a 5 star service and the best coffee. Very peaceful Hotel, safe and the whole garden around it’s amazing, and we even saw a family of Kinkajou, it’s a bit hard to find them, even harder than a sloth. Monkeys were chilling on the trees by our balcony while we were doing some computer work, reading and having breakfast, so it didn’t feel like work at all.
Front Desk staff helped us booking some tours and telling us what to do around, cool guys working there. We were booked for 4 nights, but my wife and I decided to stay for one more. Totally worth it.
This place might not be for you if you don’t like some cute leaf-cutters ants, monkeys, the whole beach for your self and great fresh seafood (no F** MC D around here, only real food).
Thanks to Everyone here, Pura Vida!

Great Location and Hotel

Just spent 7 nights all inclusive here and everything about the hotel has been excellent.
Location could not be better as it was direct access to the sandy beach.
Accommodation was to a high standard, very clean and well maintained, Restaurant provided excellent food and a wide range of choice. All the staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient, with special thanks to our waiters Carlos and Jorje, for being very attentive and providing great service.

Feels like an island paradise!

This was the perfect place to wrap up our vacation to Costa Rica, after climbing through hanging bridges and up volcanoes and hiking through rain forests in other areas. As others have noted, it feels like a jungle on an island beach and the rooms accentuate that relaxed vibe. Our ocean front suite was right on the beach, and the lighting in the room was wonderful. The large windows came with electronically remote controlled room-darkening shades, which was a nice touch for late sleepers. We ordered room service one night and it was fine - reasonable price and prompt delivery. We also wandered down the beach and had a few drinks at the other beachside establishments; all were good. This is a beautiful, fun location, and bizarrely close to the international airport and the direct flights back to the US and Canada. We were a bit surprised we had to pay $60 for transport to the airport, so others may find a more economical route for that transfer, but outside of that.. this place is a wonderful value for the quality of the hotel, the beach, and the amenities.
