Good hotel in great location
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

This is the second time we have been at San Cristobal.
The rooms on the 4th floor overlooking Alameda park were spacious and clean.
The breakfast was ok.
The cleanliness of the hotel was very good.

All the staff were excellent and friendly.

Great location on the edge if old town, right across the road from the bust stop.
The taxis are also across the road beside la canasta bakery.
I can also recommend la canasta bakery for coffee and it's rolls and baked goods.

Location and Value

The San Cristobal is a great value hotel in a super location, five minutes from the seafront and three minutes from the old town. Good room and breakfast and efficient and friendly staff. Highly recommended and I will stay again next time I visit Marbella.

Great hotel

Have just returned from this hotel after a two week holiday and what a lovely hotel and holiday it was.We had read the reviews and went with mixed feelings. The staff were all very friendly and helpful where ever you went in the hotel.Had a premium room on the top floor overlooking the road.Yes it was noisy to us as we come from a very quiet rural part of Norfolk but to some city dwellers this would probably not be an issue. The room was large clean and comfortable. If we had one complaint it is the tea and coffee making facilities which were included. When we arrived we were looking forward to a drink although there were two small bottles of water three coffee sachets and four tea bags but no milk sachets. For the whole two weeks we were given five coffee sachets six teabags no milk and no more water between two of us.Other three star hotels we have stayed in have milk and water included and all replaced on a daily basis but all in all a lovely holiday.Would we go back probably not as once you have been to Marbella we said it is not a place we would return too also a rather overload of restaurants and not much else.

Location spot on

Let's start with all the positive and there are more positive than negative. The location is perfect especially for solo travellers, bus stops right outside at only 1.18 euros each way to visit La Canada shopping centre & to visit Puerto Banus. The hotel is straight facing Alameda park your view will depend on room allocation but it is pretty especially at night when the fountain is lit up and a nice spot to sit to cool down in the shade, you can grab a coffee & cake in the popular la canasta cafe right next door. The beach is lovely the sun beds with straw umbrella are 6 euros but your on holiday so what. There are plenty bars, restaurants, & toilets at beach. Anyway back to the hotel, defo book the superior rooms on the 5th & 6th floors huge comfortable bed , fridge, kettle with tea /coffee, Tv with s good music channel and BBC1 , nice wee veranda, air-con with remote control, plenty lights and plugs, lovely bathroom with great big shower. Rooms clean with plenty towels and complimentary shampoo, body milk, and other toiletries. The reception staff all friendly and helpful. Now some negative my first night i arrived late and was told my premier room was not available due too a plumbing issue so was downgraded for a night in a side view level 3 room. These things happen i guess so I didn't make a big deal , the room was fine but needed upgraded especially since the next day I showered to then find the place flooded to the front door. When I returned to the receptionist to inform them and to find out how they where going to compensate me due to the price difference & inconvenience, and that required consultation the following day with the receptionist & the Manager who may i add did not attept to show face & speak to me face to face. All I was eventually offered was a free meal in the restaurant with a soft drink. This is free to all guests that book direct by internet buy the way. I wasn't impressed with this gesture especially as I dislike italian food and would have been more impressed with a bottle or few glasses off wine with the meal. I had to suggest this ! In the end I didn't use the voucher and never got a reply from manager. The breakfast had plenty choice but the quality wasn't great, but I am fussy. Would I recommend yes ! Would i stay again ?? Hmm not too sure.

Beautiful hotel with amazing food
Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We arrived on the 8th September feeling a bit apprehensive about the hotel as there are such mixed reviews. We were pleasantly surprise from the moment we arrived at reception where we were greeted by a lovely friendly gentleman who checked us in and he had very good English. Our room was a beautiful premium room with a balcony overlooking a small park. There was a busy road below which we did not really notice as we kept the door closed at night with the air-con on. The bathroom was lovely and the shower had really good pressure and there was always hot water. When we first arrived our air-con was beeping every 15/20 minutes which was very annoying at night. We mentioned it to reception a few time and they always sent up the maintenance guy, however it took about 3 times to get the beeping to stop (we used to sleep through it in the end). Eventually it was fixed but then it started to drip which we also mentioned to reception and they could not fix this (hopefully it is fixed now). For some reason on one of our days our room was not made up, I am presuming they forgot to do it.

We were half board, the breakfast was ok (have had better but it was adequate). The evening meal was ordered from a menu and was very well presented and amazing. The menu changed each night. There is one member of staff who was extremely friendly and helpful called Moha. We used to look forward to seeing him each night. The other restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful too.

We normally go to 4+ star hotels with a pool and I have to say we did not miss the pool. We went to the beach each day which was only a short stroll from the hotel. It was lovely to have the old town and the sea front so close to the hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
