How to Get There
The Hotel is very much a regular clone of its type it is dated and tired. Our room was very spacious and had all the things you could need , it had a decent view. I would say that a lot of rooms along the West side looked cramped and the view i'm guessing not that good. The service was good , there is a bit of language barrier, don't expect people to be fluent but that's fine the hotel has a lot of nationalities staying and it makes the atmosphere so much more enjoyable. The food is plentiful and in the main very good. If you are B&B it is a little expensive but fairly comparable to eating out. Location is pretty out of they way so f you want to get around you WILL need a car, check with hotel if parking is included otherwise it's 8 Euros a day.
It advertises its self as a Golf resort, it really isn't , the Gudalmina South golf course is next the hotel , the hotel sells discounted access to guests through a golf desk at reception at approx. 85 Euros, Buggies etc are handled by the course The golf aspect was very poorly managed the Hotel golf people were not helpful. The course is pretty challenging a fair amount of water and shape
In summary, Hotel average. If golfing plan and book ahead
Stayed 4 nights with friends on a tennis holiday. This hotel is ok nothing special and would not come back. The vast majority of staff are unhelpful and disinterested except the ladies who cleaned the room they were very nice. The room is large I had a top floor sea view which was cleanish, in need of modernisation. It has a large balcony but with plastic furniture. Bed was good, pillows awful and you need to ask for a kettle and take mugs from the dining room. Bathroom the same ok shower not great. Breakfast was ok, basic. We had lunch once in the hotel again basic and ok. The pool is massive, staff rude and unhelpful. The beach area has plastic beds and the hotel staff did not tell us about the jellyfish. You need to pay for the spa which we thought was included especially after seeing it, it is nothing special. When I asked to speak with the manager they could not find him, and apparently he is still looking for me? To get into town is about a 10 minute 15 euro trip by taxi. This hotel was fine for what we wanted but was expecting more from hotel web site images and reading reviews. The reception team the ones I spoke to all need retraining and it would help if they spoke a little better English and if any member of staff is ready this when you speak to another member of staff in Spanish make sure the customer you are speaking about does not understand what you are saying.
Stayed for 3 nights. The hotel has a nice location close to the beach. Nice pool and pool area, but getting a drink at the pool bar takes to long, they need to have more staff there every day. If the pool area was full it could take 10-15 minutes to get a drink in the pool bar. Nice breakfasts with great views overlookong the sea.
Located in a beautiful luxury area of Marbella hotel was a lovely surprise. Clean rooms, very good size especially for European resorts. Lots of Spanish people staying and many comming back year after year. Abour 15-20 min car drive to Puente Romanos restaurants.
Nice swimming pool with comfortable lounge chairs, enough chairs even in high season. Plastic chairs on beach which cheapened the look slightly.
Decent breakfast till 11 am. The only issue that service often was very slow especially for afternoon drinks. Great 3.50euro /glass rioja.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and would go back next year.
The hotel itself is lovely and in a great location, however the food in the evening needs improving massively. I chose chicken satay for dinner which came with rice, the rice was not cooked at all and the chicken in the sauce!
We complained and the staff were very understanding, however we did have to eat out every night on the holiday.
