How to Get There
We stayed here for 3 nights recently. The hotel is very off the beaten track. It’s great for a quiet relaxing holiday but a car is definitely useful. The hotel itself is beautiful, so clean, staff are helpful and the location is amazing! When we got here we were starving having travelled since 2am and we were hoping we could get a sandwich or something handy but the beach club was only thing serving. The menu was v limited and very expensive! (€17 for a tiny bowl of mini prawns & garlic with nothing else)! The room service was good though but still food here is very expensive! Breakfast was amazing!!! Rooms had no tea/coffee facilities. The beds on beach (in the pictures) were €110 per day!!! Needless to say we didn’t use them! On the whole it was a fab holiday! It was a gorgeous hotel! Bit overpriced & pretentious at times but great on the whole!
Just returned from staying here for a few nights before moving on to another hotel, we stay in Spain often and we've never stayed there as it looked so nice, close to where we wanted to be, we gave it a try.
Shame as potential to be fantastic. most of the staff we came in contact with were very unfriendly, one was very rude to me at break fast I just asked for a table as they were all allocated and she was extremely rude to me as she didn't understand English, No need to be rude!! screwed up her face to me as she spoke, not a nice greeting in the morning. I lost my necklace I wore it the night before we left, couldn't find it anywhere in the morning but around 9.00 am as we were asleep somebody entered our room we woke up and said hello and they just left?? really unsure what that was about but we checked out and mention the lost neckless was just told to leave my number for house keeping but herd nothing.
I booked a long weekend with myself and my mum over the bank holiday. It was bad from the word go. We arrived at around 10:30am and was told our room wasn't ready which was fine, so we got changed and went to have something to eat at the restaurant at around 11:00. We arrived and went to sit down, and the restaurant manager walked over and told us we couldn't order food as the lunch doesn't start until 1pm. We said ok, can we at least order a small sandwich or something and was told no. So we said but we haven't eaten anything all day but we have to wait until 1pm to get any food? And he said yes. Bearing in mind we had left our home at 2am and hadn't eaten a thing! We then stood there rather unsure about what to do and the manager just walked off, and a very lovely lady told us to pop into breakfast and grab a little something because she could see we were clearly very hungry. We did that, and I got a tiny crossaint and my mum got a bread roll with some cheese, we sat down outside, and the manager immediately ran over to us (his voice was particularly loud) and said we cannot have this, we cannot have it, we need to pay!! We are not entitled to this and we must pay! We were extremely shocked as he was practically shouting at us telling us we are not entitled to it in front of lots of other people. We said that's fine we would pay for what we ate but we need to eat we cannot wait another 2 hours. He took my name and told me it will be added to my room. That was as soon as we arrived so it was a bad start. The lunch (at the same restaurant) was horrendous too. We had to get our own menus from the stand as no one greeted us and after ordering two sandwiches, we had to wait over an hour for them to be brought to us. There were around 4 other tables of people, so they weren't extremely busy, and everyone who arrived after us got their food before us.
The following day, we went for lunch and returned to find people had tossed our towels on the floor and taken our sun beds. Myself and my mum started to ask why they had done this, and the lifeguard came over to me and told me to stop 'acting like a kid' and move beds. I asked why I need to move when I have had these beds since 9am, went for lunch at 2pm, returned about 3.30pm to find out beds had been taken! He said you need to find other beds! I couldn't believe it!! So to cut a long story short we ended up leaving the pool as we were so embarrassed that the lifeguard had just shouted at us, we also ended up forgetting our creams etc and when we went back for them, they had gone.
The icing on the cake was being asked to pay €30 for the croissant and piece of bread and cheese my mum had eaten at the first breakfast. We had to argue with the receptionist for almost 10 minutes explaining that was all we had, and even if we wanted a full breakfast, e.g eggs, bacon etc, that was all taken away anyway! So why do we have to pay for something that wasn't available in the first place. She called her manager (eventually) who agreed to reduce the cost to €15. All of these issues were in the space so 3 days!! My mum has been to this hotel 8 times, and it was my 4th visit, but I must say, after this last visit, there is no way we will be returning. All the hotel wants is your money, you get nothing for being a regular customer and I cannot believe how we were treated while we were here. We felt like a burden to the hotel, and it wasn't a pleasant stay at all. They have now lost two loyal customers.
My wife, friends, and I stayed for one night and were blown away by the beauty of this resort. We had a beautiful sea view which completely made the stay perfect. The room was very clean and well cared for. In the evening, we tried to get help at the front desk to purchase ferry tickets to Tangier, Morocco and were having problems with the transaction. The concierge was on her way home and saw we were having trouble, and decided to stay and assist us. This cost her an extra hour of her time. This kind of customer service is what separates the 4 stars from the 5 stars. Unfortunately, I did not catch her name, but hopefully management will know who I'm referring to. The next morning, breakfast was absolutely outstanding with the most beautiful view of the Mediterranean you can imagine. Five stars!
Bit out of town, but genuinely nice hotel with good rooms and nice grounds with private beach. Good breakfast and good shower (albeit over bath). Restaurant service on 1st night close to unacceptable though, with our business group feeling very much 2nd class to tables of 2or4 and being served by moody waiters.
Menu has a very definite Italian tinge rather than Spanish but food itself generally very good.
Not sure I’d return.
