What We Love

  • Laid-back lunch in the beachside Cappuccino restaurant
  • RedLevel rooms include access to the lounge for breakfast, drinks, canapés and butler service

  • Lounging atop a vast, canopied poolside Bali daybed

What To Know

  • Calima, the hotel’s two-Michelin-starred restaurant, tends to be fully booked, especially on weekends; make a reservation when you book your room
  • You might find the poolside Bali beds a bit expensive (about $140 per day) — if so, pick a lawn sun lounger or head for the beach

Outstanding service, lovely ambience and great location

Hugely ernjoyable 10 days at hotel . Staff and service were superb throughout. Accomodation and facilities overall were excellent . Only minor niggles were that the bath/ shower room, basinarea and toilet area very cramlped for 5 star hotel. And why no tea/coffee maker in the room ? The location is brilliant- quiet end of the beach away from main town but with many good restaurants along the front within 10 mins walk and old town 20 mins easy walk..

Great Hotel

What a great stay at the Gran Melia Don Pepe. We stayed for 2 nights in an ocean view room with access to the Red Level which was super special. Everything about the Hotel is first class and I can't wait for our next stay.

Another wonderful week in this beautiful hotel which just gets better and better each time we visit.
Continual improvements to the hotel is appreciated by those of us who are regular visitors.
Staff can not do enough and management always visible and attentive as is all the staff including the pool concierge.
Looking forward to returning again later in the year.

Excellent Hotel and Staff

Red Level is great with drinks and snacks all day (including beers, wines and Cava) and afternoon tea and an evening Canape and Drinks reception for two hours. Try Tahini (on site) and Cafe Cappuccino (on site). We did not like the steak house (T Bone). All in all a really fantastic location, hotel and staff. This was our 6th visit and we will be back. Special thanks to Rafa at the pool and the Red Level team.

Great hotel, great location but......

We have been visiting Don Pepe for many years. On our last visit, we decided to book Red Level and were very pleased with the facilities that it offers.Very good breakfast options and free drinks available all day until 9:00pm. The snacks throughout the day are very much that - just snacks.
Our biggest disappointment this visit was with the T-Bone Restaurant. We have always made good use of this restaurant as the ambience and food have always been very good. Sadly, this wasn't the case on this visit and we just couldn't eat the Rib Eye Steaks we ordered. We left more than half of them and commented on the poor quality when the waiter came to take them away. No action was taken. We tried one more visit during our stay and went with the Cod and Tuna dishes. This was better, but we decided we would use other restaurants for the rest of our stay.
In summary, this is till a great hotel in a great location, but they do need to take a close look at their restaurant.
Also as a resident, I really do object to the 18 Euro's per night car park charge.
