Escape the city with a serene stay on one of Cornwall’s prettiest beaches, at a luxury beachfront hotel. The Beach at Bude offers a stylish stay, overlooking the sands of Summerleaze Beach, which is recommended by the Marine Conservation Society’s Good Beach Guide for its excellent water quality, and heralds its own salt-water swimming pool, set into the rocks. The hotel itself gains ample kudos as part of the Smith Collection, whilst appearing in The Good Hotel Guide, The Michelin Guide and The Sawdays Collection. It’s also a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence winner – naturally.
For the activity seeker, Bude is a great spot for surfing, so why not take a lesson or two and hit the waves. For something a little more laid back, spend the morning on a fishing boat out of Bude Harbour, hunting for your catch of the day, or amble over the picturesque coastal paths that lace the Bude Downs. However you choose to spend your day, you’ve the inviting ambiance of The Beach at Bude awaiting your return. Kick back with a Cornish cocktail before a refined dinner of seasonal British cuisine in the hotel’s stylish restaurant.
How to Get There
My partner and I spent a weekend here and as a warning, Room 9 is not representative of the website or hotel ambience.
I am extremely thankful for the upgrade we received on the house and the way the staff dealt with our disappointment, which explains the 5 star rating - particular mention to Jo on reception and Emma in Housekeeping!
The breakfast is tasty but the chef on the Sunday did present the taco dish differently and it was cold on arrival. The selection of cereals and croissants are tasty.
We would come back but would make sure we booked into “The Suite” or “The Retreat”!
Everything about this hotel is good - well appointed bedroom, high quality bathroom, great views - particularly from those rooms with a sea view, a very lively bar with terrace, and a decent restaurant which knows what it's good at and recognises that not everyone wants fine dining every night. My only gripe is that there is no English wine on the list - come on, this is Cornwall, with some great wineries, support them!
Stayed for 2 nights at the end of August. Hotel is in great location right on the beech with a lovely veranda overlooking the sea. Great place for drinks and food although gets very busy each evening. Ate in the hotel restaurant one of the nights food and service where brill.
