The Beach at Bude offers a stylish stay, overlooking the sands of Summerleaze Beach, which is recommended by the Marine Conservation Society’s Good Beach Guide for its excellent water quality, and heralds its own salt-water swimming pool, set into the rocks. The hotel itself gains ample kudos as part of the Smith Collection, whilst appearing in The Good Hotel Guide, The Michelin Guide and The Sawdays Collection. It’s also a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence winner – naturally.

For something a little more laid back, spend the morning on a fishing boat out of Bude Harbour, hunting for your catch of the day, or amble over the picturesque coastal paths that lace the Bude Downs. We visited this lovely hotel for dinner last night and the food exceeded our expectations. Every dish was tasty and so pretty,we so enjoyed all the flavours. The staff must also get a mention as they make this place so relaxing and friendly. We will be back.

We decided to pop in for coffee this morning while on a day trip to Bude and we are so glad that we did. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming , we also met the chef who we chatted to regarding the menu and what choices I would have being vegetarian he was so helpful and friendly as were all the staff we met we will definitely be back and hopefully be staying the night as well.

Still as good as ever-apart from the parking!

We visited the Beach several years ago and always vowed to return if we went to this area of Cornwall. Lets get the only problem out of the way, the car parking is an issue. We returned several times to the hotel to find that there was no parking outside the hotel or to the rear and the only advice was to park at the Job Centre down the road or the public car park by the beach. This seemed to be an even greater problem than our last visit so it would be great if the hotel could come up with a better alternative if this occurs because it did come across to us from the receptionist that it was our problem!
With the whinge out of the way this is a wonderful hotel, everything is just designed and provided to an excellent standard. There is no pomposity but it does feel that you are staying somewhere special. From the cleanliness to the quality of the food and drink nothing is left to chance and would thoroughly recommend the hotel to anyone. It is not the cheapest hotel around but for the summer time in an English seaside resort it is worth it-just sort the parking please.
