How to Get There
Surprisingly, this hotel was full on a Thursday evening. We were in town for business and needed quiet. Unfortunately, the walls are thin and we could hear the next room of folks celebration through the adjoining doors. We could even hear the sound of a person walking on the tile floor in heels! Called the front desk and we were told there were no other options. We kept the TV volume up and ear phones in to drown out the noise. Also the HVAC system had a hum that vibrated the ceiling over the bed. I thought perhaps it was a tractor trailer making a delivery but when I looked through the window at the parking lot, there was no truck.
The staff hear are very friendly which made up for the noise. We did however notice the lack of diversity. The waiters and waitresses were Caucasian and the bus-persons and housekeepers were either Mexican or of Latino decent. This was not inline with Hilton.
The food was decent though they could use to improve the desserts. Perhaps highering a pastry chef is in order.
For breakfast we walked up the street to Christy's for breakfast each morning. It was great and the prices were right. It's just a 5 minute walk.
Of note, at $20 daily parking fee is added to your bill.
Fridge in the room didn't have a freezer. Turn down service brings water and ice to the rooms each night. Complimentary coffee at tea available each morning.
Madison Beach Hotel is always a quick perfect get away for us. We have only been off season. Balconies overlook the water with a spectacular sunrise and sunset. Restaurant and porch dining not to be missed.
A fabulous weekend away. People are so friendly views are just breath-taking. A nice walk on the beach to clear your head. If you want to leave I suggest visit Chamard Vineyards for a tasting & lunch.
I'm so glad my son & his bride selected the beautiful MB Hotel for their wedding weekend! The service was outstanding. We were treated like royalty!! Food was top notch! Reception rooms were perfect!!
We stayed last year and loved it so much we booked again this year. Beautifully appointed beach hotel right on the Long Island Sound in lovely Madison. From the moment you enter the property, you are warmly greeted by the valets who help you in with your bags. (Shout out to the one who remembered we use the outside elevator and hit the button so as we walked up, the door opened just as we arrived. It was very cold and that was very appreciated!) The check in and check out was a pleasant transaction, bright smiles and very courteous. The rooms are decorated with classic New England touches, big sleigh bed, light, neutral colors, a fire place and a wall of shuttered panels that are light and bright which opens out to a deck overlooking the beach. Beautiful view. Spectacular sunrises and sunsets. The gentle woosh of the waves is so relaxing. The bathroom is big, featuring a soaking tub and full stand up shower with rainfall fixture. The space was very clean and comfortable. Two small complaints, the pillows were like squishy rocks - not at all what we are used to- and when they replaced the toilet paper, it was one ply tissue which was really a disappoint for a hotel of this caliber. Not sure why that is even in the building as it was not what was there previously. Other than that, it’s just lovely. The bar is beautiful with amazing blue granite(?) bar and tables and has interesting cocktails and a decent beer selection. All the best spirits are present. Personable bartenders, Bob and Bobby, took good care of us. They remembered us from our last stay and that was cool. The food is very good, whether you eat it at the bar, on the heated deck or in the dining room, it’s upscale and trendy with interesting flavor profiles. We ate appetizers at the bar in the evening but tucked in for Sunday Brunch. A glorious buffet with a raw bar, salads galore, carving and omelette stations and a variety of breakfast and lunch offerings. We also enjoyed the Bloody Mary bar, very tasty! There is a bountiful desert table with something for everyone. Do view it before you eat so you know how much room to save for these delightful confections!
We love the shore but are not “beach people” so coming in winter lets us enjoy the coast with an easy, comfortable vibe, without the crowds. We enjoyed the luxury and pampering at off season rates and can only say wonderful things about this establishment. This may become an annual retreat...
