How to Get There
The hotel is no more than a standard highway roadside chain hotel (Comfort Inn / Hampton Inn etc.), but wants to put itself out as a quaint New England Hotel. It's fine -- but overpriced essentially because it is literally the only place to stay in Middletown. There is no competition.
My stay was ruined at 1:20am when I was awoken by obnoxious, drunk, New England bros who had just been let out of the hotel bar. F-bombs flying, and endless shouting bro-language. Went on for over 30 minutes -- without any hotel employee to tell them to shut up.
The place is not worth it. Unfortunately, it is the only place in town when visiting our student at Wesleyan. Other recommendations are welcome.
Our room was fine and the hotel staff was responsive at all times. My daughter lives in Middletown and she recommended brunch at the hotel. 3 of us ordered the Lobster Benedict. My girlfriend requested "light on the sauce". It came with a full helping of sauce and the potatoes had been removed. Presentation was laughable. My daughter's meal came complete with MOST of an eggshell. This, we sent back. Would have asked for the manager, but a large wedding party came in and we just wanted to go.
What a wonderful place to stay. I recommend it highly. Comfortable, affordable and elegant. We were there for a wedding and it was absolutely beautiful. Food in the Tavern was great and so was the service.
This is a lovely inn right in the center of town. It costs twice as much or more than most places in the area if you are a budget traveler it’s not the best choice. I splurged during a visit to my student at Wesleyan. We even had room service which was brought up very quickly and was delicious!Parking situation is strange which lots around the Inn designated no parking. But they will assist you Overalll a lovely stay.
Great Quite Charming Inn. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Room was fresh and bright. Was in town for a Wedding and everyone loved the staff and rooms. The Lobby bar was a great spot to meet after check in and when we returned from the reception!
