How to Get There
On a ladies' fall foliage tour, we stopped here for one night on our journey around New England. The front desk greeted us right away (with cookies!) and check in was quick and easy. Our room was large and spacious...much more than we expected. This place had a refrigerator in the room (quite handy for the Diabetic one of our group for her insulin storage) and the beds were comfortable. Water was hot and water pressure excellent. The breakfast offered complimentary the next morning was plentiful and so many options. My sister especially loved the chef-made omelet.
Went to this place for a little possible fall scare but the only thing scary about this place was perhaps the internet propaganda which lists this property as one of the top five haunted hotels in Connecticut. Otherwise it was a charming boutique hotel on a very nice property.
The Inn is nicely appointed (decor, space, exercise room, public office area, endless coffee), the spacious yet cozy rooms are a conversation piece in and of themselves with their thoughtful, creative, fun decor and the bar/dining area was very inviting. EQUALLY important...every encounter, with every staff member, was excellent: ranging from the consistently friendly & smiling Front Desk crew, to the helpful chamber maids, the down to earth bartenders and the lovely staff at the breakfast buffet....All were welcoming, friendly, helpful, patient, informative and each made the stay feel personalized and very comfortable. We definitely recommend this Inn and we WILL be going back soon!!
