How to Get There
I just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel. The location is great and everything in town is easily walkable (this is the end of the off-season so some stores and restaurants were closed, and the hotel was relatively quiet). The staff was super helpful and friendly and the room was very clean and well equipped with a fridge, silverware/plates and coffee maker. The last renovations appear to be several years ago but the decor and furnishings are well maintained and contribute to the cozy atmosphere. This was a solid experience for a reasonable price - I would not hesitate to stay here again in the future.
This place was not what we expected. We were looking for a quiet getaway. There was a girls hockey team staying here and they let the girls run the halls all night long. We were staying in the room right above hot tub. All we could hear were the kids in the tub. We finally called the front desk, because these rooms are far from noise proof, and we were told after 10:00 it would be better. After 10:30 a group of adults went in and it was F bomb after F bomb. After about 5 hours of sleep and a splitting headache got up to make coffee, and the coffee maker didn’t work. Told the front desk at checkout and they could have cared less. So much for a romantic birthday getaway
When we reserved a "Grand" room, we did so after reading the description of the room's view as "Your private balcony is available to have the mountain and valley views at your finger tips any time." Our 'valley' view is on the first floor at the same level as the soccer field directly adjacent to the property. Dismissing the noise from the kids practicing and the lack of privacy (there is also a public walkway 6' from the deck) without closing the blinds, the reservations manager confirmed that this is a 'valley' view because you can see the red rock hillside beyond the soccer field. I'll be happy to update this review after our complete stay (unable to cancel/change to another hotel without full cost lost) to see what our full experience is like, but I'm so frustrated with what I consider false advertising, that I need to vent now and warn others about what to expect.
After our full stay, I added one star for the comfortable bed, walkable location and a couple of nice employees. We never ate in the hotel. The overall stay was very disappointing because we were never told about the some of the amenities when we checked in or during our stay...bikes, van service, etc. The room itself had worn furniture (except the nice bed) and was not 'luxury' at all.
