How to Get There
Never having been to Snowmass, we were totally unsure of what we had booked. Capitol Peak was in the most perfect location! Right next to the lifts, The Treehouse children’s center, and several great restaurants. The underground parking was great. The accommodations were clean, updated and very nice. We had a 3 bed 3 bath condo overlooking the village. It was great! The kitchen was well stocked and the layout of the place was perfect for our family of 5. Loved having a soaking tub in the master. We were leery of no on-site swimming pool since we were here in the summer. But having access to the Snowmass Club was perfect! The Club was very nice and a great retreat for us. The hot tubs on-site were great and I must say the Clark’s grocery store right near the condo was extremely nice. I thought the prices would be outrageous but they weren’t. Their selection was amazing!
Building C facing the ski mountain has no view because of ongoing construction which is noisy, unsightly and less than 100 feet from our windows. They would offer no refund and moved us to a different property where our unit was somewhat bigger and a great view, but the property was old, dated, stained and inconvenient. Not worth $1000+ a night.
We found an AirBnB apt in this property. Aside of how pricey Aspen/Snowmass area is (4 nights around $2k total), the location is perfect, right at the base of Snowmass village, ski in and out. We are 4 people and stayed in 1 bd apt + sofa bed for kids. The building has a great gym and great hot tub facing the mountains. On our way driving from Denver to Aspen, we stopped at a Costco and got all we needed since the food options in the village are expensive.
We had a fantastic time and definitely we would stay here again.
Room in bad conditions , broken fireplace( 48 hours to fix the problem), dirty pillows and towels , very rude staff ( front desk and manager on duty ). The first 2 nights we had to sleep without duvets , the hotel everyday promised to provide the duvets but they took 72 hours to give us the duvets for the beds. House keeping was taking care of the room only after 5 pm. Complimentary shuttle service was provided just after several requests. As compensation for all the problems Capitol Peak offered 2 vouchers os $ 100 ,00 each to be used in a couple restaurants close to the Hotel; of course we didn't accept their "tip" offered by their manager and director personally. The worst and unexpected was to meet really rude and arrogant staff , specially the manager and the director of Capitol Peak. We had to pay in advance for the rooms and Capitol Peak didn't accept our request to leave this sad hotel and receive the refund for the up coming nights.
You cannot think about to have any kind of help from their concierge; they aren't friendly to provide informations or book restaurants. Absolutely frustrating and surprisingly and the worst way.
Capital Peak is the best place to stay at Snowmass. Fabulous condo, great location, gondola is 20 paces from the building. Ski in ski out convenience. The kitchen was fully supplied, clean, chic and modern mountain with fireplace, hot tub, An in house gym.
