From the minute you walk into Keyah Grande’s private villa and encounter
the specially commissioned Chihuly glass sculpture in the foyer, you’ll
see that this hideaway is far more than your typical Southwestern
lodge. The private home in Colorado’s Pagosa Springs is an elevated
escape, the kind of place where you can follow up a sauna session with a
billiards game or a tasting at a 3,000-bottle wine cellar. There’s an
African-inspired fire pit, and when you’d prefer to explore the scenery
that has helped make this region so iconic, the surrounding private
ranch calls you outdoors.
It’s likely you’ll be doing a whole lot
of the latter – if past guests are any indication, your main pursuit
here will be charting as much of these 4,000 acres of Colorado
wilderness as possible. In the warmer months, you may hike,
horseback-ride, skeet-shoot or fish, while winter brings beautiful
snowshoeing and cross-country skiing conditions. Year-round, you can
drive beyond the property limits to bathe in steaming hot springs, or
stick around to watch for red-tailed hawks, deer, elk and even a black
bear (if you’re extra-lucky). Ain’t life grande? When you’re this
immersed in nature, yes, it certainly is.
The suites at Keyah Grande are individually themed,
to evoke the cultures of different nations around the world, and are
located on either the ground floor or second floor. You may be placed in
the America, China, England, France, Santa Fe or Japan suites, each
featuring such comforts as a jetted bathtub and a walk-in closet.
the property’s massage and facial facility to complement your outdoor
adventures with some first-rate pampering. There’s also a sauna, perfect
for helping you continue your restorative escape.
Grande’s 4,000 Pagosa Springs acres invite you to spend your days
spying for their wildlife – including hawks, elk, deer and even some
mountain lions and black bears – and enjoying the terrain. In warmer
months, hike, bike or horseback-ride; when it’s cold, snowshoe or
cross-country ski (downhill skiing is available at Wolf Creek Ski Area
and Durango Mountain Resort, an hour off the property). You can fish or
visit the professional skeet-and-trap facility or sporting clay field,
and some offsite hot springs open year-round.
How to Get There
This was a PERFECT stay!!! EVERYTHING about this place was PERFECT!! The BEST HOSPITALITY, McKenzie and her husband were the ABSOLUTE BEST!! My family, friends, and I will definitely be back. If you are looking for a perfect getaway, this is the place. You definitely will not be disappointed.
I rented the home for my family and guests for my son's wedding at a nearby bed-and-breakfast. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the property, which was beautiful and well-maintained. The views were gorgeous. It was a real treat to stay in such an lovely property. Management was very responsive to every need. The guesthouse was comfortable and elegant at the same time.
We hosted our family and wedding party at Keyah Grande and all had a magical time. The scenery, facilities and staff are incomparable. Professionals from Durango know the Keyah Grande reputation and are more than happy to help make your event divine. Thanks for making all our wedding dreams come true!
