How to Get There
Our stay was first class with a personal touch. Mac the manager and his team did everything within their power to make my wife's 65th birthday a truly special and memorable occasion. I had requested roses in the room upon our check in and Mac made sure that happened. Kody with food and beverage made sure that my wife's favorite beverages were iced down and in the room. Every member of the Hyatt team went above and beyond to make our stay fantastic!!! If you are looking for a place that is first class with a personal touch Hyatt Regency Denver is the place.
Our flight from Charlotte, NC to Denver was cancelled. After rescheduling our flight, I called to inform the hotel we would arrive Tuesday morning. We wanted to keep our 3 rooms for Monday night, although not arriving until 10:30am Tuesday morning. This to ensure rooms to use to freshen up before going to our conference that started at 8:00am. Upon arrival, we were told by the front desk that 2 of our 3 rooms had been cancelled because no one had called to extend check in. We then spoke to the manager on duty, Ivan, who repeatedly asked for the name I had spoken with to extend. He then reiterated his ability to cancel the room due to policy and that no rooms were available in the hotel. He offered to contact me via my phone number on file if he had a cancellation. He was rude, unprofessional and pre-occupied while speaking.
We were booked for 3 rooms for 5 nights with a VISA on file for payment. We were attending a pre-paid conference costing over $5k. Several flights had been cancelled in the area due to storms during our arrival period. Oddly our 3 rooms were divided into 2 confirmations and one had been updated with the extension. It amazes me that with a phone number on file there was not a call made before cancelling. A member of our party was forced to overnight in Boulder due to the cancellation.
Although once loyal, I will not stay overnight with Hyatt again unless forced by situation.
The area was bustling with conference attendees. There was a party going on the deck below and one across the street with music and noise, however when I went to bed, everything had winded down and I slept GREAT! Room was clean, and comfortable. One comment is fridge made a slight noise, like a distant alarm (wakeup kind). But I was so tired did not hear it during the night, only in the morning when I was trying to do some work at the desk.
This was my 25th stay at the Hyatt Regency Downtown and every time it gets better and better. The room and view was amazing. And the staff were truly nice. Fantastic location, in the heart of Denver. It's one of those 1st class hotels that you absolutely have to stay. 5 stars!
Nice location and it's easy to get to restaurants and shopping. Pay attention to buses and trains. It's easy to get distracted by all other sights and sounds I watched two people else step in front a train and the bus on the 16th street mall.
