The Lowdown

Get bold in Boulder. Basecamp Hotel Boulder, an Ascend Collection Hotel puts its fresh, offbeat signature touch on the rustic styles of the Centennial State, with everything from leather butterfly chairs to flickering hurricane lanterns. Room décor includes transistor-esque radios and canvas drop cloths, screen-printed with a local map, while walls of unfinished wood, sprinkled with rock-climbing holds, make the communal lounge feel more like a mountain lodge. In case it didn’t already, that is, considering the city’s high-elevation location (5,430 feet above sea level).
Speaking of location, Basecamp’s own address is fantastic, just a few blocks from the Boulder Creek trail and from the flagship University of Colorado campus. You’ll be able to follow eight miles of gently sloping paths through the forest, when feeling outdoorsy, or cheer on the Buffs at Folsom Field during football season. Head up to Pearl Street to pop into breweries, cafés, restaurants and bars, unless you prefer to stay in. Basecamp’s amenities are as smart as its looks, from a dry sauna to a well-equipped fitness center to a slick coffee bar.

Your room is rustic, with a fresh, modern twist. Expect touches like a screenprinted Boulder map on a canvas dropcloth, plus wooden furnishings, like a writing desk and night table. You’ll have a choice between one king or two queen beds.
Amenities- Reduced-waste spa bath amenities- Coffeemaker and gourmet coffee?- Hair dryer- Iron and full-size ironing board- 32-in. flat-panel LCD TV/computer monitor- Dual-line speakerphone

Whether you’re in Boulder to hike, cross-country ski or shop till you drop, Basecamp puts you right in the thick of things. The Boulder Creek trail winds through the neighborhood, with an entrance just a few blocks away from the hotel’s front door, and the Betasso Preserve Trailhead is a 15-minute drive. Outdoor-activity outfitters, plus galleries and bookstores, reside up on Pearl Street Mall, alongside restaurants and bars. There are bicycles available through the staff, to help you get around more efficiently.

Okay, if you don't need to spend much time in your room

This is a clean, fairly pleasant place to stay in Boulder. Rooms are a bit small, and the walls are not as soundproof as I would've liked - to sum it up, it's a converted motel 6 with some campy decor added. Think carefully before bringing a pet with you though - it's one of those "pets allowed but not welcome" situations. No good place to walk dogs on the property, sizable extra deposit required for bringing them, & you are not allowed to leave your dog alone in your room at all. Like, their policy is to literally have your pets removed by the humane society if they are barking and disturbing other guests (whom they'll give a refund to at your expense.) Breakfast is extra and nothing to write home about. Wifi password is not provided, I had to call the front desk for it. No microwave or fridge in room. Overall, not a bad choice if you just need a clean place to lay your head at night and aren't planning on bringing a pet.

Basecamp has a good vibe!

I chose the hotel because of its proximity to campus, and being in the price range of not fancy. But lots of very nice, thoughtful touches. I like how they decorated the rooms with very "boulder" spirit wall hangings/the cooler. The cafe at the check in area was nice as was the climing wall/table tennis meeting room and the yoga/fitness room.

Basecamp Boulder delivers high quality and friendly service on a consistent basis. The people at the front desk are always helpful, housekeeping is through and the amenities are exactly what I need. I can always count on basecamp to make my stay in Boulder enjoyable.

Our room was wonderful. Tastefully and nicely decorated with some fun pictures and illustrations to look at (humorous too). The bedding seemed cotton which is always a plus and no terrible fake fabric softener smells, just fresh hung out in the mountain air to dry smell. Clean and comfortable room, nice big quality windows that open easily for fresh air. I LOVE the parking my car right outside my door (the motel model) unlike for some who complain it's not a "hotel', but more of a "motel". The office and little coffee shop is adorable. Perfect location, quiet for sleeping! the young goy working upgraded our room so we had a separate little loveseat (sofabed) and table area. Nice!

My friend booked this hotel for my daughters College Graduation from Naropa which is right next door! I love the cute campy decor, beds are comfy, it's pretty quiet and the staff has been helpful when needed.
Went to see the workout room and was so happy to find 2 peloton bikes of which I have an account with so I was able to log in and RIDE!!!! I know that is not for everyone but so nice for the growing PELOTON population.
