The Movich is a sleek hotel with a polished, modern lobby (lush red carpets, accents of tropical wood, and a striking leaf motif mural above the reception area). Breakfast is served on the rooftop terrace, which offers city views (and partial shade). White linens and neutral contemporary decor characterize the business-friendly rooms, many of which have work spaces.
In the Area
Located in the capital city of Bogota near the atmospheric Parque de la 93, which is surrounded by office buildings, upmarket bars and restaurants, the Movich is well situated for business and leisure travelers. The Chico Museum, also within walking distance, is a stunning historic hacienda filled with art and antiques, giving visitors an idea of how Bogota’s upper classes once lived. It’s surrounded by a sweet park (with a quirky café in a double-decker bus). Farther afield, there’s the Botero Museum and Mount Monserrate — staggering city views are just a funicular ride away.
How to Get There
Last week, in order to attend some business meetings, I decided to book this hotel that belongs to the same owner of Avianca.
In few words, the hotel is quite new and is a great option for business travelers. The hotel is located in Chico, a neighborhood in the North of Bogotá, which allows you to be near everything since 7th and 11th avenues (carreras) are just a couple of blocks away.
I have stayed here many times and they have all the small details down to perfection. Always greeted by name, always know when I arrive mid afternoon I like a double espresso and always have a clean, spacious quiet room. It’s the little things that make this a great place and close to Parque 93 - walking distance.
Bogota has no one area that is 'the' tourist focus. As a consequence, security concerns coupled with proximity to worthwhile sites is difficult to accomplish. Movich Chico 97 is more business hotel than tourist stop. But that shouldn't stop you from staying here. Staff were extremely responsive to needs (Daniel a particular star). Room was clean, nicely fresh in tone and more than satisfactory for our needs. If you need a family destination, then Movich Chico likely will not work for you. But if you want only a solid hotel in which to stay while visiting Bogota, this hotel more than fills the need.
Hotel for business matters!!! Not for vacations!!! Nothing to view, nothing to do.
Isn’t a nice place. Suitable only for spend few nights. If you go for vacations it isn’t the choice!! Service at the restaurant for breakfast is ok. Service in general isn’t as expected.....
Moving to Colombia for work, I stayed 1 month before finding an apartment. I really appreciated my stay there: great service, excellent breakfasts, good rooms, nice terrace, and mostly really great employees. Only point is the price of laundry services, as I had to use it a lot, that was a bit expensive. I strongly recommend otherwise.
