How to Get There
Lovely hotel with beautiful views and easy trip to the airport. Great location for all the beauty of Mt Pleasant and Sullivan’s Island. However, service levels in the hotel are fair. Room service for one breakfast order led to over $14 in service fees alone - almost more than the breakfast!! Last time we do that!! Didn’t get maid service yesterday, had to call twice to get clean towels last night and gentleman that came up wasn’t thrilled he got stuck with that duty!! Still a nice location but don’t recommend for off-season. Still paying a decent price but
Missing the benefits.
I recently stayed at the hotel for 2 nights during a business trip. While the hotel and rooms are lovely, the service is sub-par, which is a large factor in a hotel being a "Leading Hotel." I had a very late check-in (the hotel was informed of this) and when I asked the front desk when I arrived if room service was available, I was told that it was not and was directed to a small concession at their neighboring hotel. While it was midnight, I needed to eat something and was faced with a very limited choice of candy or a granola bar. When I got to my room and looked at the room service menu on the television, there was a late-night menu which had some healthy snacks, which I would have preferred to a chocolate and peanut granola bar. I then placed a dining card on my door for coffee service from 7:00 - 7:30 am the next morning, which never came and caused me to over sleep. The finale of that morning was being locked out on my room's balcony - I am unclear why the door locked behind me but suspect that it was not the first time this has happened - and had to summon someone on the ground 3 floors down to inform the hotel and open my balcony door. This was not that speedy, however, it was finally opened after approximately 10 minutes by the hotel manager who was gracious and offered me a significant credit for meals during my stay. (which was helpful as entries are in the $30 range and a piece of cake for dessert - nothing special I might add- was $14!) The next morning at the hotel's same, and only, restaurant, The Fish House, there was no one at the reception desk so I waited more than 10 minutes to be seated (although there were only two customers in the restaurant). The server asked me if I wanted a menu, which I thought was odd in-and-of itself, and then I waited another 15 minutes for someone to come and take my order. Finally, I flagged down a manager who took my order. It took over 45 minutes for me to receive 2 eggs and grits, which, of course, caused me to be late for my business meeting. I never saw a bellhop outside of the hotel and housekeeping did not replenish the soap or toiletries in my room, and the soap needed to be replenished as it consisted of a round 1 inch bar. Moreover, the tissues were not replenished when there was only one left in the box. I won't even mention the somewhat ridiculous up-charges, $12 per day to self-park and an $18 resort fee. In all, while the room was pleasant, the service was so severely lacking that I would not recommend this hotel.
My husband and I had a fantastic time! Check-in FANTASTIC, room - FANTASTIC!! Staff, FANTASTIC. Shuttle service, FANTASTIC, Check-out, FANSTASTIC! Did I say we had a FANTASTIC time! We are looking forward to our next stay!!
We had a wonderful stay! From checking in, our beautiful room, amenities, friendly staff, cleanliness, and to checking out! - Everything was A++! Amy was especially friendly and helpful! We cant wait to return one day soon!
The Beach Club at the Charleston Harbor Marina Resort is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. The rooms are beautiful (The bathrooms are the biggest and nicest I've ever seen), the Food at the neighboring Fish House is superb, and the views over the Harbor are enchanting, especially at sunset. It is very close to downtown Charleston, and definitely has the "southern charm" many other hotels are missing. The staff is also wonderful. They tended to every need we had, always with a smile.
