Excellent customer service! Could not have asked for better service - to include bellhop, housekeeper, waiters, desk staff or Innkeeper. Will definitely return! Great recommendations for meals, day trips , and dress.

Historic House with all the pros and cons
Reviewed 1 week ago

We wanted somewhere for a one night stay and this was interesting historically and looked comfortable.
The house itself is spectacular with the tiles on the sidewalk and the wrought iron stairs to the front door. You are greeted by a concierge/receptionist and given a parking pass for the car park at the back.
Our room was an enormous suite by the front door. As a result we heard more than we would have liked from the reception corridor, but it was not too intrusive. The floors are all wood with rugs so there is a lot of foot noise from the room above and as you would expect, lots of creaking.
The rooms are comfortable in a homely way and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was served in our room on time but you have to be very specific about what you want, ie butter does not come with toast if you don’t ask for it.
The staff are friendly and the afternoon tea and decanters of sherry and port a lovely touch. I think if you want a four star hotel then you may have trouble with this, but for a stay in a truly historical house in a fantastic location, it is worth a visit.
